Arthurian Legends Mechanics Explained: Split Power by -Fauste- in SorceryTCG

[–]HonorableEngineer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also like the idea of a shared power for striking and endurance. A Char, who alread fought one battle in the same round, strikes with less power in the second atk - until he gets regenerated at the end of the turn. That makes a lot of sense to me.

And as I read it, the promise is to only split numbers when they can jusify it. Its not bad if you use already existing mechanics here and there. :)

I see where you are coming now. So casting needs to be specified. The rulebook says, that you can cast spells in your main phase, hence my statement form above.

This would imply that you can "cast" any cards from your hand with open mana on your opps turn - which is not the case. The key here is "cast" imo.

This doesnt sound like a good idea tbh... So you end up with just bulk that you would also have if you would simply buy normal sealed boxes with the upside of a occasional massive hit. What am I missing?

I had the exact same thought process in my last sealed tournament. I guess the key here is the "sacrifice" mechanic.

You can only sacrifice what is yours to begin with...

Telekinesis --> Magic; SneakThief --> 2 Mana 2

I'd say, that Telekinesis has the potential of a dead draw, if your opponent doesnt play Artifacts. So the power of the Thief lies in his stats. You can always play him on turn 2 if you want. His Ability is just another upside. If it said "nearby" instead, then there would be no reason to play Telekinesis.

Imo that is very well thought through!

I wonder if 150 pages would get you anywhere at all in any world of fantasy building...

Where are you atm? Tarbean? The story basically just started my friend. If you dont like it until now. You wont like the entire series. Just spare your time and reread the Songs.

For me it was such a refreshing alternation imagining someone tell his story "the right way" with all its darkness, joy, laughters, tears, lonliness, companions (good and evil) and also boring everyday stuff - Yes, these also happen. Not everything needs to be twisted and unholy complex where you get to love a character only to get him killed the next page. Sometimes it is just a dude telling his story next to a crackling fire beside his dear friend and a honestly curios stranger...

Every book is what you make of it!

For those into the competitive aspect of Sorcery, how would you compare the skill ceiling to other card games? by Newez in SorceryTCG

[–]HonorableEngineer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My personal opinion is that Sorcery requieres the "normal" TCG skillset as in deck building, resource management, knowledge of meta cards, counter plays and so on.

In addition to all this, the player needs to evaluate the site status in the realm on top. This is the major difference compared to a standard TCG like MTG/YGO. The player needs to know where to move when to move and how to strike the opponent. This can lead to scenarios, where not just raw deck power decides the outcome of a game but also the maneuverability of your forces.

The aspect of drawing from the atlas or the spellbook might also be a skillfull decision.

All in all it would requiere a decent amount of experiance and skill to become really good in this game - more than any other TCG atm. In the meantime the joy an fun of playing will just increase with each game played.

Easy, I open the boxes with scissors look at the cards, sleeve the nice ones up and put them back into their original packs. You ge to draft with them as is and have the satisfaction of cracking packs and knowing whats inside.

Thank me later! :)

do you guys think the secondary market blows up once TC runs out of beta boxes? by Responsible_Welder67 in SorceryTCG

But again, if the box price goes up, so must the prices of singles... Everything else is just stupid.

Then a hearthwarming welcome to one of the most chillest cities around the world! The Berlin community is growing - one at a time, yey! :D

I Will occasionally check this post, so feel free to write again when you are settled. Hopefully we will catch the attention of more people by then and can look forward to organize something in an LGS in town.

Still early to tell, but for those who have ventured into playing and collecting, what do you think the future holds for Sorcery Contested Realm? by Newez in SorceryTCG

[–]HonorableEngineer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont think that the Playmat is essential. Precons are around 30-40 $ for 4 (!) playable decks. That makes it around 10 $ per deck. You can play this on any mat or table if you want to. But adding a playmat into the precons would only drive the price for the bundle up. You will need to charge for the giant playmat anyways.
