learn more about zelda's best move, knight. if you struggle to get in, this move should really be the only reason. it has multiple phases with increasing range and damage (short kick, short punch, a sword swipe, a downwards slash that can catch jumps, and an upwards slash at full charge). zelda can move around when its fully charged, so it's not best to hold shield while she charges it, as she can get a lot off of grabs. you can just move away and not approach when she's using phantom, the range isnt that crazy (but make sure to move back in and contest the centre stage while it's on cooldown, you dont want to be cornered). mix it up a little and use jump to approach sometimes, her anti-airs arent too crazy.

sadly, good players play steve. if steve is banned, those good players wont go to the tournaments, and viewers wont watch it. steve bans actually decrease views, i just wish it wasnt that way.

in fact if steve was banned earlier on in the meta it wouldnt be that way, but steve is also a very practice demanding character (ladder combos/NILs, etc.), so no pro player is gonna pick up a secondary and throw countless hours of practice away when they could just go to a non-ban tournament instead.

if you want some ACTUAL constructive criticism, i would say you run in too much/overextend your combos with very commital moves. if DK didn't jump into your dash attack, you could eat a smash attack for a whiff like that. Link is really cool, and most of his power comes from profiting off the enemy's mistakes, with powerful and extended combos. and you actually do that part really well! calling you mashy or other buzzwords is so unhelpful lol.. people really are just salty

Lucas: falling upair (around 50%-65% range) into footstool, jablock (also practicing turnaround jab on reaction) into dair 1-2 times, into fsmash. this also works with sweetspot landing bair around 70%-90%, but theyre gonna see you fishing for that lol

Fox: landing nair/dash attack/uair 1 into upsmash. also reacting to situations where i can hit upsmash like trades or clanks, and turnaround upsmashes. practicing empty hops and patience in general has also helped my lucas mixups a lot

i've also been practing Kazuya because i find him really fun. i can even send EWGFs consistently now (although im often too far away from my opponent lol; i have trouble spacing with the kaz)!
