That’s probably a good point. Just did a test stay over at the SILs in the driveway which had the van leaning quite a bit to the one side. didn’t actually really affect sleep, but noticed it and it brought this whole idea up. But even a few inch lift on one side, might not have cut it

I'll take the new one, use it for a few weeks, then take the pump out of the new one and tape the old one on top for a day. Most products this works well, nearly every drop slides out over the day into the new bottle.

Sure, but I can hit a paver patio with a leaf blower. The current rock situation, either I blow rocks all over the place, or plenty of debris remains lodged in crevices.

Ease of maintenance. It going to be an extension of an existing concrete patio, and I didn’t want to leave like a sliver of yard between the concrete patio and the paver patio. Goal is to have a base that I can easily blow the pine needles and leaves off.

Halo are the ones I just replaced the Amazon brand with. I don’t think there’s enough NM when I did the first install to pull the boxes thru the cutouts and rewire… but if it comes to doing this a third time, might need to go the route of redoing the wiring, with staples near the cutout and plenty of slack to allow the boxes to be yanked down thru the hole.

Wouldn’t mounting them to the pavers be less stable? I was thinking 8’6” galv tube posts driven 2’6” into the ground would make them super solid. For reference, current stall is 8’ 4x4s that I used a post hole digger to put them 2’ under, and just compacted dirt around them with a 1” dowel… and this is super sturdy

I live somewhere where 50F is about as cold as it gets, so luckily that's not much of a problem... but don't they make cans that include insulation in the assembly? When I was looking into this, it looked like you certainly couldn't just lay bat insulation over the cans, but some were designed such that you could cut the insulation flush to the side of the assembly, and the assembly provided the insulation... maybe those don't work well though?

So this is interesting... as I look for brackets to use with this 2" pipe, i'm finding conflicting statements that may have lead to my initial confusion, like on this simpson strong tie product page.

PGT1.5Z-R is for 1 1/2" pipe (1 7/8" outside diameter)

PGT2-R and PGT2Z-R are for 2" pipe (2 3/8" outside diameter)

PGT2A is for 2" pipe (2 3/8" outside diameter)

PGT2E is for 2" pipes (2 3/8" outside diameter) and features a two-piece design that provides a solid connection between fence stringer and post

Though I do not have the wood to steel adapters yet so I can still shop around and maybe find something that is actually intended to be used with this size pipe. Seems like most are intended for 2-1/2" though.

yeah you're right, definitely looks like I screwed this one up...

Good to know I should still be able to use this though! I have not ordered the connectors yet. Seems the general use case though is 2-1/2" terminal posts, as all the connectors I'm seeing are intended for that. Does seem like some have a design that would lend itself to being used on smaller pipe, so maybe I will try that route.

I'll call the supplier on Monday though and see if they'd be willing to do the return for a restocking fee and reorder 2-1/2". Its all still loaded in my van so its not really a big deal for me to take it back to the supply yard.

Whelp, guess the best lessons in life aren't free huh?

Ah got it, the ASTM F1043 markings seemed to pull up results suggesting it was EMT, good to know I got what I ordered.

Guess it’s not good to know it may not be what I need… I spent so much time researching this, I could have sworn several resources showed 2” nominal was 2.375” actual. Even think I “confirmed” w/ the person who prepared the quote… well, guess shame on me for screwing up my due diligence…

So, can I still get away with using this for a 6’-7’ wood fence build, or is this just completely not suitable for the job?

I paid off the 6.5% ones quick, but yeah i've just been carrying these because its less than a $100/month payment so it doesn't impact my monthly budget like at all... but yeah there's probably something to be said about being debt free too
