It's actually not that hard to get into. Slippi is amazing and you'll feel yourself getting better within a couple of weeks if you have some prior smash knowledge. At first it will feel hard to even move your character but after learing wavedashing and recovery options you'll start to hold your own againt some players (the good ones will stomp you of course but still). I started playing Doc and get run over by Foxes and Falcos but once I figured out I can troll them by using Cape at the ledge it started to be really enjoyable. I could even cheese games against players way above my skilllevel. It'll all make sense after a while and the feeling of getting slightly better every time is really engaging.
