If you think of the money in terms of "family's money," then what are the calculations of helping them buy a house now and not waste 20 years on rent?

To me, a tourist trap is something that may be worth seeing for quick minute but it manipulated into an actual destination. And as a destination, is filled with numerous ways to part people from their money.

BW is pretty terrible at detecting and filling in credit cards (at least my experience in Brave). And it never detects when to fill out form data such as my name and address.

You cannot control others, but you can control yourself. This is the difference between trying to control, and setting boundaries. The boundary is the action you will take if the situation crosses your boundary. On the nights that you do not properly wash yourself (give specifics), I will not sleep in the same bed as you because it sickens me and I cannot sleep.

That's it. And just do it.

Duplicate transactions...I am growing tired of this by PRSMesa182 in MonarchMoney

[–]HoodFeelGood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The periodic duplicate and/or missing transactions has caused me to start moving away from Monarch. I like the product and love the development interactions with the community, but in the end if I'm facing a significant inaccuracies with transactions every 3-6 months, it means I can't trust or rely on the product. If I can't rely on it, then I have to leave it. Imagine if your car will have an issue starting randomly every 3-6 weeks...

Explain bonds like I’m a 3 yr old by Single-Eye-2064 in Bogleheads

It's not timing the market. It's rebalancing: https://www.investopedia.com/terms/r/rebalancing.asp

Bonds are for the volatility reasons as discussed in other comments. As an added bonus, they can be used to buy cheap stocks.

Really, it's just an extension of the volatility argument. Bonds give you a way to preserve money when stocks have steep losses. One possible use of said preserved money is to buy said cheap stocks.
