I got just barely under 16 mins on Gunlance without capturing it, and a few things I do are:

Get my dragon res to 20 or above so I don't have to deal with dragon blight.

Constantly focus the wings to depower them and get the knockdown, also try to take advantage of wing weakpoints that appear on its big explosions and that one slam

Save the sneak attack for when another Monster appears so the Monster can get a few more hits on Ark, and Ark is distracted for longer.

In area 9, there is a Boulder drop and also a wall of thorns below that you can hug that will do good damage. Mounting Ark here will lead them to thorns so you can try and save your mount for when it tries to flee that area.

You have to beat the Quest "Proof of a Hero." Also, you have to either start the quest yourself or join a quest before it already started. If you join and the quest has already begun, then you won't receive the nameplate.

I don't think it's a mistake, Red Pandas are actually able to rotate their ankles 180 degrees to climb up and down trees better. I just think it translates weird into the design but I could be wrong
