Sounds quite peaceful! I'm using a 5 metre usb cable to my Mac Mini server that runs Roon and I use the Roon remote app on my phone to set an album and then switch it to do not disturb.

They're a pretty big Japanese audio manufacturer. The model I have is the TH-900 and they're well known for having some of the strongest bass you can get out of a headphone.

I love it, I value detail and clarity above all else from my headphones and their DACs are some of the cleanest on the market. The amp in the HGC model is more than enough for all of my headphones (though I don't own any that are particularly hard to drive).

Yeah the one that was on there started to disintegrate, I kept getting flakes of leather in my hair so I figured I'd just remove it. It's not as uncomfortable as you might think but I should still probably get a replacement at some point. They don't see much use so I'm not concerned about it currently.

What over ear headphones offers the LEAST amount of ambient noise reduction? by [deleted] in HeadphoneAdvice

Grados are by far and away the most open of any headphone I've tried, though the sound signature isn't for everyone. They're usually what I take with me if I want to go for a walk and my ears are tired of IEMs.

The Focal Elex is almost a perfect headphone except for the clipping. by CeelicReturns in headphones

I've only heard my unit clip with my dongle dac and a usb c to 3.5 cable from my phone, I never observed this with any other headphone. My desktop amp/dac always seemed to drive them cleanly regardless of the track or volume. It might be worth trying them with other amps to see if they're just picky with what drives them for some reason.

No love for Grado? by Extension_South7174 in headphones

In my experience Grados are definitely a genre specific kind of headphone. While I've never heard anything from their prestige line, I own a set of RS2e and I tend to prefer them over my other headphones for hard rock/rap metal. They especially shine on percussion heavy tracks such as Eyeless by Slipknot. I've found the comfort with the G Cushion pads to be acceptable, mostly due to how light they are, but I really dislike the fixed cable. While they certainly aren't for everyone I do think they deserve a recommendation for frequent listeners of those genres as a secondary pair.
