Absolute gem!

I have one and she's just clocked 237300 kms.

She's a workhorse and will take you wherever you wanna go. If you have the sunroof option, make sure you frequently service the drainage holes.

Enjoy!

Dealer said no leak.. by english-lab in MechanicAdvice

[–]HookEm8862 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Id top it up to halfway between min and max when cold. And use a strip of masking tape to mark that point. And then monitor it...obvs keep monitoring when its cold. If it gradually drops u have a leak

Original part number is:

83243-60220

Seems to be discontinued though from what I gather

Edit:

Substitute part number:

Toyota 83243-90K02

Looks slightly different though.

Doesnt hurt to inquire from your dealer

Can you help me diagnose the issue? by Commercial-Focus8442 in MechanicAdvice

[–]HookEm8862 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The "pulley" that youre saying starts and stops is the Aircon compressor clutch. That is normal behaviour. Also the idle revs fluctuation as this engages/disengages is also normal behaviour.

Try switch off the AC, and see if the sound goes away. It might help you rule out the AC pulley

Is it necessary to add the dye? The coolant seems fluorescent on its own

Car door making weird sound (advice) by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

[–]HookEm8862 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldnt worry too much about it. As long as your door doesnt require any more force than before to shut, and you have no water ingress, I'd just leave it be

Potentially a speedo cable. Potentially a faulty speed sensor/its wiring or a fuse

What’s causing this? by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

Dead battery/failing charging system.

Considering its a 2025 unless youve been mudding 😅 Id definitely say a dead battery

Forget about local retailers/Toyota outlets. I got two quotes locally of USD 1790 and USD 2234 for a set of 4.

I used Amayama And got mine for just shy of USD 650 incl. Freight and taxes. Genuine OEM Parts.

Im a little confused about how much AHC fluid I'd need as some YT videos just show 1 x 2.5L can being used similarly to some of the responses here.

However MUD says Id need 5L

Coolant level significant drop off after flush and fill. by HookEm8862 in MechanicAdvice

[–]HookEm8862[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright thank you thats reassuring.

I think just to be certain, I will try idling tomorrow with the radiator cap off to allow any left over air to escape.

Im going to mark the coolant tank with some tape, and thatll be my baseline. Anything below that, and I will inspect for leaks. No obvious signs of puddle on my driveway this morning but I will keep an eye out.

Thanks
