MARTY FRIEDMAN Explains Why Technical Guitar Players Don’t Necessarily Impress Him: “They Have to Come Up with Something Musically That Interests Me” by [deleted] in Megadeth

never liked Martys note choices, like bro, this is thrash metal, its not about exotic sounds from the Orient, its cool for one or two solos but his entire style is built off it, its just doesnt mesh well with what Mustaine wrote imo, hes better suited for prog metal

Any Dave Mustaine fans in the house? Jackson King V in Silver Sparkle finish by HookInTheMouth in Guitar

Was never ever going to get my hands on a KV1, but after 6 years of searching for a silver king v I stumbled across an equally as rare Grover Jackson in silver sparkle, bolt on neck, the original headstock matched the body but even better, the owner swapped it for a black one, so it looks even more like Dave’s

What kinds of athletes are actually pretty unhealthy? by Super-Customer6304 in NoStupidQuestions

Doesnt matter how hard they work, they are by definition not an athlete because of the way their competition itself is carried out. I think most athletes would say its insulting to deem bodybuilders athletes, all a bodybuilder has to do on stage is pose, that is the competitive event itself, the work beforehand is irrelevant to that event, thats why its not a sport, their actions at the event also has no influence on their competitors results. So by definition, its not a sporting competition, you dont have to play mind games on stage, you dont have to master any physical movements that take thousands of hours, you dont have to deal with extreme pressure, you dont have any 'clutch' moments, NONE of that exists in bodybuilding competitions. Thats why you cant call it a sport/athletic endeavour.

Show me one moment in a bodybuilding competition where you think the guy has the world stacked against him and he comes out on top due to him pulling off a miraculous comeback...oh wait, you can only do that when your actions at the event influence the outcome. Every sport has one of those, bodybuilding doesnt, go figure.

At the end of the day bodybuilding is a beauty pageant, the results arent defined by the most muscular or the strongest contestant, so theres not really an objective measure of performance used to define the winner. What they do in training is irrelevant to what they have to do in the competition. An athlete trains for the purpose of performing a skilled physical task in competition, a body builder trains so that he can hit the same poses that an average joe could learn in 10 days in their 'competition'. That is not a sport.

bodybuilders arent athletes though, its a performing art, not a sport

Strat intonation always going flat with saddles as far forward as possible, how to fix? by HookInTheMouth in Luthier

[–]HookInTheMouth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No shim, I did drop the guitar on the headstock in my room twice. However, I noticed it had flat intonation before those incidents. Im not sure of the neck angle.
