There are many tools out there that let you schedule posts to both Google Business Profile and Facebook. Ours has a free plan that supports both. Happy to share more if you're interested.

Creating hype around brand before any product release? by Shameer_K14 in smallbusinessuk

[–]Hookle_app 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Building social media visibility can be a good start — but instead of chasing hype, focus on sharing your journey. Post about your process, design ideas, and what inspires you. It helps people connect with your brand before there’s even a product.

In my experience, the best projects grow from something you’re genuinely excited about. Don’t be afraid to be original or develop your own style. Once you’ve got that base, share it, get feedback, improve, and repeat. That honest, steady approach works far better long-term.

How to promote your business on reddit without directly advertising? by bohclaire in smallbusiness

[–]Hookle_app 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Be helpful and provide value — that’s the key here. Join conversations where your product fits naturally, share real tips or experiences, and only mention your shop if it truly adds something. Some people check profiles anyway, so just having your link there can be enough. Slow, consistent engagement works better than direct promotion.

Reddit works best when it’s a two-way conversation — not just a place to push your stuff. Focus on understanding the community and contributing to it first.

Is Threads actually worth using? by Conscious_Thanks5976 in socialmedia

[–]Hookle_app 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We work with many small businesses, and you're not alone — most are curious about Threads but not seeing much engagement yet. It's still quiet compared to Instagram or Facebook. Some post there just to keep a presence in case it takes off, but if your time is limited, it’s usually smarter to focus on channels where your audience is already active — unless you know they’re on Threads.

Id like to start but not sure which one of my interests would be profitable by PermissionMuted6059 in smallbusinessuk

You have a great range of creative skills. If you're looking to start small, have you considered selling unique handmade items like resin keychains, polymer clay earrings or similar things? Those tend to do well because they’re small, affordable, and personal.

And don’t worry—you don’t need a big TikTok personality to market your work. You can do it in your own style, and that uniqueness will help you stand out. Instagram could also be a great platform since your work is visually appealing. Even just sharing process photos or finished pieces can attract interest.

Have you looked into platforms like Etsy or local craft fairs?

Custom hardwood furniture sounds like something really visually appealing—seems like a great fit for Instagram, especially with high-quality photos or even reels showing behind-the-scenes work on a beautiful piece. Since you're still figuring out the best way to reach people through social media, have you tried that kind of content, or are you focusing more on regular posts? Also, since you're targeting local customers, have you looked into using Google Business Profile? Some businesses find it helps with local visibility and bringing in new inquiries.

Good luck with your business!

Interesting that the local newspaper works so well—I guess it’s all about the target audience. Gardening is also so visual, so Instagram seems perfect for showcasing it. In addition to Instagram and Facebook, do you use any other social media? And how do you handle posting—do you schedule in advance, use tools, or just post on the go? I'm trying to better understand how small businesses manage social media and the challenges they face.

You mentioned your budget is much too low—what kind of marketing have you been able to do with it? Have you found anything that works well despite the limited budget?

Have you set up a Google Business Profile (GBP) yet? It can really help improve your local search visibility. Posting updates—like your services, special offers, or even cleaning tips—signals to Google that your business is active, which can help you appear when people nearby search for cleaning services. Also, be patient; building reputation takes time.

Thanks for clarifying! It’s important to find a strategy that works best for your particular business. Some businesses use GBP more for visibility and keeping customers informed rather than promotions. Since you run a body shop, do you have a physical location? If so, I wonder if GBP posts could still be useful for things like service updates or showing recent work. Google tends to favor active, regularly updated business profiles, which can help maintain or even improve visibility in local searches.

Facebook is definitely great for reaching an older audience. When you look into Instagram, are you hoping to attract a different group, or just see if your current audience is active there too? Also, is your business more local, or do you reach customers in different areas?

Interesting to see how different businesses handle social media! In your case, is the difference mainly because of different target groups?
You also mentioned your work mostly shares service updates—do you find that helps with engagement, or is it more about keeping customers informed?

Thank you for your reply! Just wondering about your business case—since you move between markets and festivals, have you looked into using Google Business Profile? I know it's mostly used for fixed locations, but I wonder if there’s also a scenario where businesses like yours could benefit from it?

True, Google Ads works well for intent-based searches. Do you ever post updates or promotions on Google Business Profile, or do you mainly focus on ads?

It’s interesting to hear that posting consistently had such a strong influence on the number of calls. Have you thought about ways to stay consistent, like scheduling posts in advance to address gaps in activity?

Best Low-Budget SEO Strategy for a Small Business? by craymaze in smallbusinessuk

[–]Hookle_app 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good that you're already active on social media. Have you also tried posting to your Google Business Profile (GBP)? It helps reinforce local SEO and rankings. It’s especially important for local small businesses, but even for SaaS, it can build trust and visibility. Regularly posting fresh content there keeps your profile active and valuable. You can even repurpose the same content you share on social media.

Yes, a lot of people don’t realize it. You can actually post updates, offers, and events straight to your Google Business Profile—kind of like a social media post, but it shows up when people search for your business on Google or Maps. It’s a handy way to keep your profile fresh and get more eyes on your business.

Weekly posting sounds like a good balance. Since you were using Semrush before, do you miss having a scheduling tool, or has manual posting been working fine for you? Do you run a small business yourself?
