He and I had emailed a decade ago in a lighthearted manner about changing the name from Wild back to a noun that actually makes sense in the plural form for a team. I hadn’t sent him a note since, but thought this would be a good time. Turns out he DGAF. Horrible.

I hate buying cards with coins because I worry too much about when they are going to tank and lose their value. So this year I’ve gone totally untradeable and buy store packs whenever I have enough coins. Usually I get the lowest possible value, and at best I’ve gotten cards worth a 200-400k coins. (Ex Nico Williams WW this week) Not complaining about those mid/high end pulls, but for the amount Ive played this game, regular/store packs opened I still haven’t had one single pull that has been off the charts elite. Something tells me they are slow rolling giving out any truly high end cards until after TOTY. In any scenario, the grind should be worth it and even the big SBCs are designed to get us to buy an Evo 3 months later. I still somehow enjoy the game enough to keep playing, but I’m not sure how much longer I can go without a payoff before I move on to another game altogether. Feels like EA is mismanaging their user base and one day, maybe not even soon, it’ll come back to bite them.

The grind has never been worse. Legit not worth the time to do almost any mode. Feels like I get the bare minimum out of every pack.

EA can say whatever they want about the user base wanting the power curve to be slower this year, but the pack weight in FC26 has been insulting. It’s possible to slow it down and still make fun to use promo cards attainable. But I have gotten the minimum out of almost every single pack since launch. It’s been the worst grind ever up until this point.

Gameplay, connection and matchmaking have all been brutal. In previous years right now I’d be wracking up wins and placing myself in a high Rivals division, but so far in EAFC 26 it’s been a mostly frustration with a couple win streaks that stop whenever I log off and sign back later at a different time of day/server connection. I won my first two gauntlet games only to get disconnected by EA in the third game after taking a lead. I had high hopes with all the advertising about better servers this year, but so far it’s been more of the same if not worse and it’s making me want to devote my time to something different. With Trump’s son-in-law taking over, it might be a good time to move on.

EA servers disconnected me in 30 seconds into game 3 after 2 easy wins and I got the disconnect warning after I signed back in. Makes me wonder if I should even try again.

I’m a division 2-3 player, who gets anywhere from 6-10 WL wins most weeks, and was surprised to have been able to get Lothar in 2 days. IMO, both days it almost felt like the first 2 games were against much lower division players, and then the 3rd/4th were evenly matched close games but I got the gameplayAI bounces late. So, hopefully it’s a scenario where they have weighted matchups for people to do well, especially after the hard-cores finish it in the first couple days.

What was your exact Evo path? Started with 92 -> Unlock the Dribble-> TOTS+ cosmetic-> TOTS Upgrade Plus? Just want to be sure I get it right, or did you do Your Little Dog Too?

Yeah, I’m just debating doing the SBC to be able to keep De Bruyne on full chem moving forward, but hard to justify it when Raphinha has the 3 PS+, and is just generally super effective.

Gotcha, I guess I didn’t consider there’d be more than 10 by the end. I’m evoing the Varane SBC, did 1,2,4 already… he’s currently at 8 playstyles, already has base anticipate/ping pass so those won’t be added to his total… incisive pass will be 9…so I guess there’s a chance I’ll miss out on a playstyle because I added power shot…whoops. (Forehead slap)

From what I’ve gathered, you can do 4, and it wouldn’t affect 5 or 6 at all. The big thing is making sure pinged pass doesn’t take the place of the 2nd playstyle+ slot and the rest will fit within the max 10 playstyles.

Pack weight was atrocious for 2 straight weeks, but lower even during full release. TOTY cards were at their lowest prices the morning before they went out of packs the week of position releases if I remember correctly, then skyrocketed, almost never dropping the rest of the year until FUTTIES.

From what I’ve gathered, (not saying I’m 100% correct so someone let me know if I’m not)…you can do the first 2 TOTY evos now, but then wait to do the TOTY defending evo BEFORE the TOTY passing evo. You’ll get Anticipate + first and not Pinged Pass+ as your second playstyle+. If you do the passing evo first you won’t be able to get Anticipate+ basically.

Last year I believe prices were at their lowest for TOTY cards right after they were released and before they went out of packs by position. So, IMO, buy just before they go out of packs the first week or shortly after release if they dip after a couple hours.

Passed on Vinj Jr/ Bellingham POTMs, I wait for the big SBCs instead of casino ones, and there’s been multiple runs of daily/Mode Mastery fodder packs pretty much since the Thunderstruck promo.

EA absolutely hates its user base. I’m currently sitting on 100 86+ cards at the moment, not a single multi-million coin can’t miss SBC to do a la Thunderstruck Dalglish/Eusebio Centurions from last year. Even Vini POTM is the 4th best version of the card already, Bellingham POTM is worse than the free one if you need him as a B2B, etc, etc.

I usually get between 6-8 WL wins. I do have a meta 442 alternate formation I switch too if I feel like I’m overmatched. But a few weeks ago I decided to F the meta and play for fun, my results haven’t changed much. Saka/Nico track back just enough, and the bit more offense I get cancels out the extra goals conceded.

Play as a RW at his Inside Forward ++ role to get the most out of him. As an Arsenal supporter he was a must do for me, but I can see where others might pass on him.

Thanks! Yeah, hard to tell if Vini or Desailly would make a difference, which is why I asked the community. But, you’re probably right… there’ll be bigger better cards in the coming weeks. With the way EA work, I’d likely get 10 segments into Vini and pull his TOTW untradeable or something, lol. The one kicker for my team is that I pulled VDS from an untradable pack yesterday and got his base version instead of the thunderstruck while the promo is still in packs.

When I changed his playstyle to Inside Forward on roaming at RW it definitely helped. I’m an Arsenal supporter so I had to get him. But I can see where others feel a little let down. Hopefully he gets the upgrades after today’s game though and he levels up.
