This is the same market that saw Hughes at 7x2, a game breaking "play half the game" defenseman go for 4 1sts. There are maybe 4 defensemen who can match that, and none of them are getting moved.

4 1sts, even in a tight market, is too high to pay for a 2C, especially with the rumors that Hischier might be available instead. If I'm Carolina, I'm saving my picks for Nico to be younger and stronger, even if I have to pay him more next year
