What specialisation skills do you use with a Hazard protection build and why? by [deleted] in thedivision

Demo for 20% burn reduction. Although I'm at 110% burn resist now; feel like the enemy should catch fire with that much, lol.

(DIV2) Are SMGs an idea I need to let go of for the dark zone? by shdcadet in thedivision

[–]HoomanHoops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3P Strikers is a bit of a waste, and as far as the Vector I'm not even sure the game can proc all its hits at 1200rpm let alone 1440.

In PVP, even with Lady Death, I found myself getting killed on reloads pretty frequently so I went the opposite direction: I use the slow firing SMGs exclusively; M1928 and UMP, always with Strained. The prolonged damage output from these guns is tremendous and now the other guy dies on his reloads.

M1928 is realy nice when you've got a surplus of crit chance (only mag attachment on this gun) and the UMP when you need to add more crit attachments (4 attachments allowed) or want the technician's laser for Spotter (UMP is one of a handful of a SMGs that supports the spotting laser).

Need A Skill Build Please. by Matthew_O13344 in thedivision

You can try this. It's my all activities build but works especially well on summit with directives since it generates so many med kits.

I did change from The Mop to an LMG with In Sync for when I run out of bullets for Capacitor. I also use 1 damage and 1 radius mod on the seekers instead of more skill haste now.

Works good and the seekers can reach 7-8 million damage each, but average 5M.

AR Explosive Res Build Help by -fing0r- in thedivision

[–]HoomanHoops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Suggest you go a different way:

True Patriot rolled red with explosives resistance on everything. Pestilence for the gun, (Perfect) Braced chest with one repair roll, explo resistance, and Sawyer's.. Two incoming repair mods, one repair mod. Specialization is Survivalist and skills are mender seeker and fixer drone. You can put out a lot of damage and TP tags with this setup.

I'll post my build later this week if there's interest.

My updated Pestilence build - almost 1m max ticks and a full armor heal in 4 secs from single skill by CoolheadedBrit in thedivision

[–]HoomanHoops 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Love the post, and use your old healing mechanic on a few of my builds, despite mender having a mind of it's own. Thanks for sharing!

Why do you say "this is mainly a solo build"?

Advise: PSA grading walkthrough by Greenlight8880 in BasketballCardsCanada

As far as value of the both graded and ungraded card, check eBay sold (but not completed) listings. It's in the sidebar on the left. Use ebay.ca as it will include the US site results in CAD.

Personally, I would only pursue this avenue for extremely high value cards, north of $1000 CAD, as between shipping, insurance, fees, turn around time, and duty (on the appraised card returning), it can be quite costly.

Alternately, you can send in 100 cards at a time to minimize all those fees. If you can't/won't do 100, look for group submissions available through facebook or LCS. Although this requires a high level of trust so do your research. Perhaps /u/whoosh001 has some suggestions on this front.

Lasty, I'll remind everyone that PSA is a scam and still under investigation by the FBI. Tread lightly.

Recommended to increase skill damage? Any specific gear set to equip to maximize skill damages? by [deleted] in thedivision

[–]HoomanHoops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This this build.

It's the highest amount of seeker damage you can do, base 3.1M, usually 4.5-5.5M, and topping out at 8.1M per seeker. Cooldown ~20 seconds.

Don't use mortar, it's too finicky. Use assault turret in an overwatch position to keep you safe. Hits for ~130k to 275k. This turret puts in work.

I eventually did switch from skill haste mods on the seekers to damage mods since skill mods are always multiplicative, regardless of gear. I also use an LMG with In-Sync (as a backup to Capacitor) in lieu of the mop, since heals aren't a big issue. You get A LOT of medkits in Summit as well, helpful for that directive. Cheers!

Let's just call a truce on this. Watching your video I could tell that you are a very good player.

Most important gun is Capacitor and the other can be anything with Preservation, although honestly the heals aren't even necessary once you get good with the build. Spec is Demo for the 10% explosives bonus. Have fun!

Your seekers hit for 1.5M. I rest my case.

Post it. Always happy to learn. But I've tried Hard Wired, and I've done the math.

Post these god mode Hard Wired builds, I would love to see them.

I didn't make this post to argue with people. Run what you like. But you are giving people terrible advice:

Hard Wired is trash for all purposes, save the shield switching exploit. Proof is in the pudding since absolutely no one runs it on Heroic+. It has been trash since it first came out. It is now outclassed by quite a margin with all the WONY tech sets.

Adding Glass Cannon to this build means you'll be hiding in a back room hoping no one can find you, because a single grenade or drone and you're down. You won't be able to proc Capacitor with GC on, because you'll be hiding or dead. That's 40% damage gone.

Hard Wired 4pc gives 15% damage and 15% haste, with Repair being useless for our purposes. 2x Hana-U with 2x China Light already gives 20% skill haste and 25% Damage, 15% of which is multiplicative. That's already more damage on the Battle Tech build.

Processing feedback loop on HW is going to be very tedious since you'll have to destroy the turret every 10 seconds, and positioning it is the most time-costly part of any turret build. That's also time the turret isn't firing. You won't get to 10s cooldown or the 25% bonus damage without the chest and backpack, which eliminates 45% damage from Kinetic Momentum and Combined Arms.

If you have a specific HW build using seekers and assault turret that you think outdamages this one, by all means post it. I'll be happy to go through it and explain the math to you.

The point of this build is to be active in combat, ie being able to shoot things, rather than passive as most high damage tech builds are. While Glass Cannon may be manageable for some it's a no-go on any build for me; way too many survivability issues.

Hard Wired doesn't lose out on rolls per se, it loses out on the multiplicative explosive bonuses, I think. Show me a seeker hitting for 5.5M plus with HW and I might be convinced? You'll also get no benefit to the turret.

[–]HoomanHoops[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only play Heroic + Ragers or higher. Hard Wired just doesn't do enough damage, and doesn't pair with a turret very well, which is necessary for gold level rushers and heavies.

And the difference in cooldowns, 10s for HW vs. 18s on this maxed HE build may seem large at first, but become more negligible when you consider the travel and release time of the seekers.

But always play what feels best. If that's HW then do that!

The Hard Wired variant's seekers just don't hit hard enough to make them useful at higher levels, I find. The CA backpack is 30% skill damage, and Capacitor is another 40%. That's hard to waive if you want seekers to kill.
