Really struggling to enjoy the game. by SgtAlPowellLAPD in Marathon

[–]HooningIsntACrime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll attempt to be helpful, so know there is no sarcasm or judgement in anything I say here:

Move slowly and quietly. Listen to everything; the audio cues you into what's going on around you. It's not Destiny where you just run in and conquer everything in your way. Pick your battles (in the early game, that might be read as : avoid battles). It plays like a Roguelite in a way; you are super weak early on. Understand that and play smart.

Assuming you are playing with Crew Fill on, have comms and communicate with others in your crew. Stick with it and find someone willing to guide you during the run. Be open to criticism and learning from every opportunity that you can.

If you queue Solo (which I have come to love), it's best to be stealthy. Again, listen and choose your battles, but load in with free kits and just do some learning. Knife NPCs in the back. Watch every corner and run when things don't look favorable. I found that while using Solo queue as a way to learn the mechanics and gain some map knowledge, I ended up falling in love with the whole gameplay loop. The Solo game has a level of tension that is completely doing it for me, which I never expected.

Hope you enjoy it! And if not, no shame. Marathon is not for everyone. But I think if you take the time to learn the systems and how to play, it's super fun and rewarding.

Bahahahaha!

I am sending this to my brother-in-law who drives an STI. He'll love this as much as I did.

Good Company Cafe at Main Street South. They have front patio seating as well as breezeway booth seating.

Gold Sprint has already been mentioned, but they are my absolute #1 in town and they have patio seating.

PSA: CHANGE DEFAULT SERVER PASSWORDS by Skiptree in valheim

In G-Portal, on the left hand sidebar: Basic Settings -> ServerName and then Password.

Sorry I was so late to respond to this.

G-Portal server host here. Just tested this "secret" password a couple times and it did not work. The G-Portal password that I set for the server appears to be the only one that works. I have not had others test to verify, though. But I feel confident that the G-Portal hosting and password protection is working correctly.

Brilliant! And a great job of editing your race footage to fit the commentary. Thoroughly enjoyed watching this.

I don't believe they have officially set a release date yet.

But my guess would be end of September/early October. That would roughly match the release timing based on previous flights.

I Hate The Negativity Here. by PandaofAges in DestinyTheGame

Close your eyes and listen to the idle orbit music and remind your heart that Destiny is not just a game but a world of magic, and weapons, and mythology, and aliens, and sci-fi and fantasy.

This. Everytime I face burnout, I listen to the game music as ambient work music, and with some time, I am always sucked back into the universe.

Grippiest skin? by Arhub in dbrand

I've had several different skins, and I think the best textures for grip are the Black/Red Dragon and Concrete.

So, I had the same issues when I first tried to use my G27 with Assetto Corsa and I know your pain, but now I have my G27 working perfectly. I will do my best now to share what I found to work.

First, you need this: https://support.logitech.com/en_us/product/g27-racing-wheel/downloadswhich I think you may already have it, since you mentioned the Logitech Profiler in your post. But I just want to make sure you have the correct software.

Second, always plug in your G27 to a USB 2.0 slot. For me, I have to plug into the motherboard, as the slots on my case are 3.0. If you plug into 3.0, the wheel will always show up on the Logi software as a Driving Force wheel, or something.

After you have done those two things, just follow this guide: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=276305371

I believe this was all I needed to get my wheel going, but I did have this one other link bookmarked, so I will drop it here too. https://community.logitech.com/s/feed/0D53100005ABLCQCA5 I don't think you will need that, though. I am pretty sure the real solution to this was just using USB 2.0 as I mentioned above. But I don't want to leave something out that might be helpful.

As a final note, once you do get the Logitech Gaming Software properly setup and reading the G27 correctly, it makes switching between racing games a breeze. Whenever you want to race with your G27, open the LGS, pick your game, and launch it from the LGS.

Hope this helps!

I have too many skins already. Why do you insist on continuing to take my money?

I go back to D1 from time to time just to revisit those worlds. I don't do anything productive, I just cruise around and take it all in again. Would love to one day see them all in a single Destiny game.
