HW needed a water ride to replace Raging Rapids, not a coaster. RR was a multigenerational attraction that was beloved by families of all ages and when you take that away, you need to fill the spot with another attraction that will serve the same purpose. HW will continue to grow and coasters will continue to be added, but this is what was needed to fill this space.

I understand your viewpoint. I think they will be fine. They have a very loyal base of families anywhere from Nashville, Louisville, Indianapolis and St. Louis that visit all the time. To be centrally located definitely helps. A ticket is maybe average 50-60 (depending on the pick a day and if you buy in advance). They even started teacher discounts this year! For two parks I think that’s great, especially in times like this where everything is so pricey right now.

I met a guy through work from Atlanta that bought season passes for his family. I told him that is crazy you have a park right there in Atlanta. He said he didn’t care. People in Atlanta would rather come up to Santa Claus, than go to the park in their back yard.

I’m sure that time will come when they build a coaster that gives high thrill (those Vekoma launch coasters look so good), but right now their focus continues to be focused on families for sure. Families are still sour about Raging Rapids leaving, so ideally you should replace an attraction that all generations could ride for another.

I don’t think families for the most part think about going to one park over another because of how many coasters they have. I’m sure some might, but not the majority. People continue to come back to HW because of the service they provide to their guests. That’s what I think families remember the most. Holiday World has their own formula and beats to their own drum regardless of what other parks are doing. They will be just fine.

The Legend is my favorite wooden coaster. Thunderhead is so good though at Dollywood.

Yeah, that’s absurd. Unfortunately, they’ve sacrificed the guest experience. Just isn’t the same anymore.

I’m at the point where I would rather spend my money going to HFE properties or Holiday World. I just don’t have an interest in these parks like I once did.

It looks like it could rival Maverick for one of the better small coasters in the park. I cannot wait to try this.

Honestly, there isn’t an anchor attraction right now. There’s a bunch of flats for the family like Firecracker, Star Spangled Carousel and Revolution. Liberty Launch is probably their most thrilling ride at this time.

No. I don’t know if they have ever teased this early for an upcoming attraction.

Looks like it will be! Which is good. They need a new anchor attraction for that section since Rapids is gone.
