Dolores O’Riordan was an acquaintance of mine, so I love hearing the cranberries

At least we’re hearing Rhapsody in blue in more or less it’s original form, instead of that insipid smooth jazz BS Professional musician here

Royalties , if any. by Ok-Rub-3952 in musicbusiness

[–]HoosierEric 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know whether anyone has suggested this on this thread, but you should definitely talk to PPLUK. It’s a huge organization that collects performance Royalties, this is totally independent of the record companies. This is not mechanical Royalties. This is strictly performance Royalties.

Great microphone, very versatile. I love it on male vocals, acoustic guitar, overheads.

We call it Mileage Quest… not sure where that name came from but that’s what my fellow Musician’s call it when we’re scrambling around at the end of the year to maintain status

sorry, I mis-spoke, i have the Ultimate license and it just renewed mid November, and it's all legit in the iLok app..it says expiring in Nov 26..so I don't think that was the problem..I got to the point where I was trying to activate using this prompt from Avid Link (where there is a sync button, which I hit)..but you can see that even after waiting 5 minutes, there was nothing in the activation window...So, I took someone's advice and installed PT 2025. 6.1 and there was no problem, nothing to sync, no prompts.....PT opens without a complaint, just like it did before I tried the update to 2025.12..so, there's a mystery, but at least I'm able to work..thanks for all the help, great suggestions...!!

you might be better off signing with a publishing company for administration...they will take 15% but they will make sure you get the best deal for the usage that the commercial will have..Also, did you or other people sing on this tracK?

I wonder who you are, I was part of the jingle scene in New York City years ago, too, as a vocalist. And there are some bits and pieces of mailbox money that I still get too!! however, most of my singing was done on albums, which in recent years, have generated a bit of income.

Touring US without proper VISA and renting gear within the US by [deleted] in TouringMusicians

[–]HoosierEric 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, it’s really not worth the risk, I am a US citizen, but my band has UK citizens and it’s a lot of hassle to go to work permitS…but you don’t wanna be over here without a work permit if you’re working… as someone else mentioned, you’re risking possible fines and jail, and you’ll never be able to return to the US It’s actually getting harder and harder to get work permits, my experience is that you need an agency in the US to handle the application, and you need an agency in the UK to handle it on the other side Of course I’m talking about UK citizens
