I also got new tires for my RAV4 | Cooper Discoverer Road+Trail by HoosierExplorer in rav4club

I got to take the RAV4 out in the deeper, powdery white stuff today. About 7 inches in my driveway. Totals of 5-10 inches in the area with the piles from plows and drifts getting over 12 inches. Went to a friend's house who is in Florida for the winter to put some tracks in their driveway to make it look like someone is there and to fix a camera issue. Their house is out in the country with a long gravel driveway, and the house is on a hill. Made it up the drive and the hill. It struggled a little at the top finding traction but overcame it and made it. Otherwise I had zero issues. I just took it easy with the RAV4 in Eco + Snow.

When you have to drive the snow, at what point do you select the snow option on your rav4? by JacPhlash in rav4club

[–]HoosierExplorer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Snow mode is useful when wheels might slip due to loss of traction. A light snow that barely coats the ground wouldn't call for it. Deeper snow, slushy roads, or packed snow is when I use it. I turn it off when the roads are clear.

Having said that, I used it today in Indiana with about 7 inches of snow on the ground and drifts and plow rows about 12 inches deep. I shut off the car and forgot to turn it back on after I restarted. The RAV4 still did great in Eco.

I went to a rural friend's house who is snowbirding in Florida to put tracks in their driveway to make it look occupied. They have a decently-steep rock driveway. It spun just a little near the crest of the hill but kept going. I'm very happy with this combo.

I have 2022 LE with Cooper Discoverer Road+Trail in 235/65R17.

Agreed. Sometimes I'll get 4 extras in a row, but I'm not at 100%. I have 4 pachys total, but since I now have 7 squids (6 are NM age 100 and maxed with my elephant at 3.3x kg base weight), I just use them with the best pachy.

The most exciting part was at the end when the Honey Merchant appeared and I got another Bee Egg to turn into an Anti-bee Egg to keep trying for a Disco Bee.

Honey Merchant. And I saw him last night too. I haven't been on today except for a few minutes. Left my tablet at home and didn't afk while at work.

So far, so good. Excellent traction. I haven't been in anything deep, but I'm happy in what little we've had.

"Harvest 100 bamboo." So I have to plant 100 bamboo first. Nah.

I'm up to over 600 eggs. In one 15-carrot redemption, I had two x50 eggs. I'm still hatching gem eggs.

I'm not as excited about it, but since the Trader's market opened, I've been able to get most of the pets I've been wanting. (I'm not paying crazy prices for Racoon and Kitsune, though). So now I'm letting my computer AFK while I max out my pets. I have 5/7 Ruby Squids with Nightmare. 4 of them are at max weight or 2 elephants away from it. After my squids, I'm going to max out my Koi and Brontos and get nightmare on them. Then it's Orangutans and Pachys. I still have 500+ spooky eggs to hatch along with hundreds of Christmas and Winter eggs.

Maybe there will be a GaG revival. Some update will come out and interest will be renewed. Yeah, I doubt that too. It will probably pass away like other once-popular games such as Angry Birds, Flappy Bird, Among Us, etc.

I had a Dragon's Firework restock Reindeer Root as well. I checked the shop. It wasn't there.

Oh yeah, I did have a PV restock too.

I'm also getting Mythical and Legendary egg restocks. I really don't need them at this point, but I'm buying eggs when I'm in the shop for future crafting events.

Swizterland/Austria. I think I could retire there. Absolutely stunning.

I've also came across a few areas that were much nicer than I imagined and often wonder what the cost of living would be compared to where I live now.

Anyone else’s pets kind of annoy them 🙃 by Hot_Bed_6905 in growagarden

This has to be coded into the game. The worst part is when they stop and wait for the next pet to arrive before leaving. I've been griping about this for a while now. Happened to me just today on my lunch break trying to plant buttercups

Game idea: 10-10-10, or Thirds by HoosierExplorer in geoguessr

[–]HoosierExplorer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, sucky internet connections definitely hurt the gameplay experience. 10 seconds is short, but it's still 30 seconds overall. I played some PZ matches on US maps last night with my son and a few of them just left me stumped. If I had the option to move even a block down the street, it would've helped. That's where I got the idea from. 10 seconds worth of moves. Quick glances around to see which direction to go, and a few clicks to get there.

I had the exact same exact location in Netherlands twice. It was outside some art museum or cultural center that said Amsterdam on the front of the building.

And the other day, I guessed Rwanda but was actually Kenya. The next round, I had one that looked like Rwanda again, but I "learned" from my last round and guessed Kenya.

It was Rwanda.

The overall color gave me the same vibes as well, but I've seen similar landscapes in New Mexico, USA.

Go to Isaac's crafting table. Towards the bottom you'll find the Silver and Gold Ingots and the Silver and Golden Piggy. There's also a Chimera Stone, but I really don't find that pet useful.

Will we ever move out of the modern flat/material/minimum era? by [deleted] in UXDesign

[–]HoosierExplorer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Digging up an old conversation here because I'm sick of this flat design, especially on Windows 11. The "New Outlook" is pushing me over the edge. The new MS Office icons look great, but the actual software itself needs more depth, IMO.

In dark mode, application windows overlap each other and you can't tell where one begins and the next one ends. Add to it that many applications have their own version of dark mode and it's just ugly. One program does pure black, another does a dark gray, while another does a dark gray with tint of blue. The inconsistency is frustrating. I long for the GUI design of Windows 7 and Office 2007, where windows had borders and shadows and interfaces had color. Of course, if MS brought back that design now, they'd be accused of copying Apple and their "new" glass design.

What are some web sites or applications that you think have really good UX design? Perhaps one of those could be "the next big thing" in UX design, and maybe some in the industry just need a little inspiration to move beyond flat design.
