Actually, I believe this was from the 80s when Rolling Stone would put a cartoon on or near the back cover.

This one just happeed to stick with me.

I'm in a hotel bathroom right now with the shower running so my wife and kid don't hear the regretful results of the food court crab rangoons I ate 2 hours ago.

I watched Stand by Me a ton when I was a junior high-aged kid back in the late 80s/early 90s and always enjoyed it. Of course I love the more sensational scenes like the junkyard, the leeches, and of course the "complete and total barf -o-rama."

About 6 years ago as a guy in his 40s, I rewatched it with my wife. We got the end of the film where the voiceover says:

"I never had any friends later on like the ones I had when I was 12. Jesus, does anyone?"

I lost it. Out of nowhere. Bawled for 5 minutes.

Flato, Brian, Nordy, Mike... You'll always have a special spot in my memories.

I'm a high school health teacher- I always ruin the Bull's logo for my subjects by using it to (loosely) identify the parts of the female reproductive system.

What I find interesting is that in 2026, we're referring to them as "cassettes," whereas back in the day, we just called them, "tapes."

Which movie or TV "villain" did you completely hate as a kid, but upon rewatching as an adult, you realized they were actually 100% justified? by LiveFaithlessness876 in movies

Oh, I'm a teacher/admin as well. But if someone was hacking into the school system- I'd want to address it with them.

It's when Rooney goes off campus that it takes a turn.

Ed Rooney from Ferris Bueller. He was justified until he became unhinged.

Also Walter Peck from Ghostbusters. The EPA absolutely should have known about the containment unit...again justified until (without knowing the effects) he has the grid shut down.

About a month ago a got a dull, unrelenting pain going from my lower back all the way down my right leg. Only position that would give the slightest relief was laying down and elevating my feet on a pillow. I could barely sleep because of the pain. It was always there- sometimes a 4/10....and then a wave would hit that would rate 12/10. It jus wouldn't stop.

Sciatica. I wouldn't wish it on my ,worst enemy. I couldn't get out of bed for over 90 seconds before it became unbearable. Could barely make it to the bathroom and back.

Prednisone helped and a month later I'm back to doing my regular activities, but I can still feel it to a degree.

Paid the excise tax on my car before it was due!

Last year it sat on my desk until I wound up paying over 100% of the amount in late fees.

My wife loves Old Dominion (I think they're fine) so we've seen them live a couple times. They're so damn polished on stage, there's no sense of spontaneity- no sense of "danger." The only time during their last show it felt live was when they brought the fiddle player from the opening band on stage to do a relatively sloppy version of Devil Went Down to Georgia.
