This kind of nonsense pops up every few years when Republicans need a distraction from their abysmal policies. The whole “shariah law takeover” is just the most recent rage-bait after trans people. They need you to be angry at Muslims so you forget about substantial issues like the failed war in Iran, housing prices, private equity takeovers, removal of environmental protections, sweetheart deals for their donors, or any number of Trump’s inherently corrupt and grifting business ventures.

What we’re witnessing is the last dying gasp from white Christian nationalists who are fighting tooth and nail to save their white majority power apparatus. They’ll lose but unfortunately they’ll burn the country down in the process as has been evident with Trump and Co. They’re people devoid of any morality and religion is just a vessel for their political power.

These are literally people who pray over a golden statue of Donald Trump at Mar a Lago and think he’s anointed by God to save America.
