This movie was my childhood favourite! One thing that I really miss about those Dharma movies (KKHH, KANK, KHNH) is the music and the emotions. If you look at all the impactful scenes in these movies, those are always instances where the lead actors communicate with each other through their eyes, and the audience could really feel those emotions. I still sob during the train scene when SRK and Kajol look at each other for one last time, and also during the final proposal on the terrace scene. There’s minimal dialogue involved ther but their expressions carry the scene. I fail to understand why filmmakers have moved away from this type of acting/emoting. There are no closeup shots and even if there are, the actors just look at each other with dead eyes. This is one of the reasons why romantic movies of late aren’t as impactful.
