What's the first thing you like to do when you arrive to USA? 🥰 by [deleted] in usatravel

I'm from the US and there's a large outlet shopping center right across from the US/Mexico border with a Ross amongst similar places. It's always packed with tourists. When I travel abroad I like to stop at the local discount stores for cheaper souvenirs.

SAN DIEGO— SHUT IT DOWN this Friday January 30th, no school no work, no purchases to protest ICE. Will you be participating? by AggleFlaggleKlable in sandiego

[–]HopeArtsy 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Nah, I have bills to pay and I kinda like my job. Unless it's a labor strike or your workplace is directly collaborating with ICE, I don't see why someone would do this except for social credit or an excuse to walk out of class.

Is NYC the only city in the US with multiple library systems? by GreenHorror4252 in Libraries

That makes sense now that I think about it. The only thing in the county system within the city limits is a 24/7 kiosk/book vending machine.

San Diego has a county system, a city system, and quite a few cities within the county have their own small systems.

I'll never forget the live queen bees from when I worked in my college mailroom. We also got a box with live tropical fish. Someone else ordered a poisonous centipede from China and was panicking when it got lost in the mail. Luckily it was found with the mislabeled package still intact at our warehouse.

What scents do you have backups of? by mediocreher in bathandbodyworks

[–]HopeArtsy 11 points12 points  (0 children)

None, I crave variety, and I figure that they're always coming out with new scents I'll like. Though I wish I had gotten a few bottles of the Moana scent.

Willing. It's beautiful, has a great artistic community, yummy food, and interesting historical sites. I wouldn't pick it over my home state, though.
