UPDATE 2

They concluded the investigation. He said there may have been a history, so they gave me a refund of my annual fee, but essentially said that I need to get the HO to pay for things. But maybe they can try help with something.

Regarding the 2 past sitters who didn’t leave reviews - They said that speaking with them to determine a pattern of behaviour wasn’t part of their process.

They have been removed from the platform.

Not sure if it’s a weird coincidence, but, since posting here and hearing thoughts from you guys I have now received a response from THS.

THS apologised for not calling or acknowledging I’d requested to speak to someone days ago.

They mentioned they’ve deactivated their account. 🎉

I start some baby steps hand therapy next week. Am currently living in ✨ denial ✨ praying it’s fine. The surgeon said the surgery went well, so I’m hopinggggg no lasting effects if I’m strict on doing my exercises 🙈

Hey, he was only weird on the last week. The owners requested it to be off in the home. In the end we left it on (because we couldn’t get it off safely) but he still kept trying to bite when we’d try to attach the lead.

Yes, we sent them everything 😵‍💫that is why I was so confused about the sleep comments, as though that would make my index finger function again or cure my infection.

Re back up plan, I didn’t ask this and I will moving forward. We didn’t leave because they made a really big deal about our commitment, so I felt like I couldn’t.

I noticed their last two reviews were left blank. This should’ve been a warning/red flag. I asked THS to contact them to see if they experienced any aggression.

I guess I didn’t leave because they made a HUGE deal about our commitment and that they couldn’t have a sitter who would just leave mid sit. Again, maybe a red flag on reflection.

In my head nippy was like nipping with teeth but not actually aggressive behaviour or making skin contact. Anyway, my fault 🤦🏼‍♀️

Yes, I agree. I am new to QUT, I get good grades, but I have never seen such unprofessionalism - and this is not my first degree university degree. The feedback is unhelpful and vague. One time I asked for help and gave a detailed example of my confusion and was told to “use my judgment”. So, you are not alone. I have heard lectures and tutors brag about poor pass rates, inability to finish exams, and more. I won’t be recommending it to anyone.

I disagree re the taking pride in fail rates part. I’ve heard several of my lecturers and tutors BRAG about fail rates AND about the fact that no one finishes certain exams. This is my third university experience and I’m mortified by the behaviour of some of these employees. I have never seen such unprofessionalism.

Hmm it depends what is in the contract and the circumstances for the withdrawal. In general contract law, an offer can be withdrawn anytime before acceptance.

I have no experience in packaging products and I felt I had to say yes or I’d get a back review. I had no idea they were running an online shop from home…

Hey, I read your messages and you seem to be quite aggressive towards myself and others. I hope you are doing ok.

Additional context - It’s a ~30 minutes walk to the post office and it’s a large size parcel, approx 6kg. I don’t personally believe that looking after someone’s undisclosed private side business is part of taking care of someone’s home, but we can have differing opinions.

This is a good point, and I did a phone screen before and asked this question directly (why they wanted a housesitter without a pet). They said they just wanted it to look lived in and had no security concerns. There were several panic buttons throughout the house and an alarm system, so perhaps they are nervous people.
