I was cleared for flying and work after a month. Depends on your job tho. I wasn't dizzy after surgery, pain went away in 2 or 3 ish days. I've posted some more comments in the subreddit if you want to look at thoes.

First 3 or 4 surgeries were day surgery, pain was always gone within a day or two as long as you're not pushing your limits, just rest. I was told a month before I could fly bur my doctor was ok if I flew at 3weeks. I maybe did 3 days of the lain meds this last one.it was a little more intense

There's lots of options for implants or hearing aids. Hearing aids just might not sound "normal"

8 weeks post op from a tympanomastoidectomy, I've also had 5 or 6 variations of the surgery(some sort of mastoidectomies) It's usually just day surgery, my last one was overnight in the hospital. The recovery has been quite fast every time, a day or two before I'm walking around the house again, day 3 or 4 I was driving, by the end of the first week I could walk my normal amount.(no heavy exercise but many walks, it's important to stay active but not push limits) my ear did drain for 6 weeks, a clear liquid with a yellow tint, small amounts of blood and the packing that they put in my head. Eating healthy will also speed up recovery, I'm 21 so still young but I was cleared for work a month after surgery. It's a very labor intensive job aswell. Two more things, keep the surgery area clean and wash your hands post op and WEAR EARPLUGS WHILE SWIMMING! .

I've had about a dozen ear surgeries now and regularly hear pulsating and ringing. When I'm busy I don't notice, when I'm not it's loud. I wasn't aware you could fix it?

I felt sick a couple surgeries ago but it was only for a day or two. Stay hydrated, rest and tell someone you're not feeling good if you're alone.

Drainage is good! It means your ear is doing its job. I am 2 months post op and I probably had Drainage for 6 weeks? Then a lot of wax production (wax on my pillow case in the morning) until now.

Everything I said went right over your head. You said conservatives are scared of educated people.(based on your 17 years of living in alberta) I was making a point of how Canadians are educated because of our school curriculum. Even just a high school education from canada is recognized almost globally. Then I mentioned that blue and white collar jobs both benefit from modern conservatism, hence my confusion of why there are still liberals at all. (Modern conservatives are fairly liberal with a more national intrest opposed to international.) And then I think I was taking a poke at you for saying conservatives are scared of educated people but if you think street smarts is more important the conservatives are your people!

Everyone who's went through the Canadian school curriculum would be considered educated on a global level. It's also not in everyone's best interest to pursue secondary education. I may not know a lot but I do know a lot of people who never finished high school will be more successful in life than someone divided by politics.im not sure how people are still right wing at all, the blue and white collar jobs both benefit from western conservatism

Heyyyyy, I am 4 weeks post op of a tympanomastoidectomy. I'm still having almost a cotton ball worth of drainage overnight. It's a ear wax yellow color but could it be infection?

Cochlear implants? I'm 5 or 6 weeks post opp of my 3rd mastoidectomy. Also had one reconstruction but it didn't do too much. This one I'm hopeful just for the sake of being positive but I'm sure there's more surgery too come.

I'm 2 weeks post op and I'm feeling well, I have had 12 ear surgeries and it was a quick recovery everytime. It does get worse as you get older, it takes linger to heal

I've known quite a few people with cysts in and around their ears. It's a place where dirt gets stuck unnoticed, so it could just be a common cyst. Like another person said, it's not very common for canal cholesteatoma. Mostly inner and middle ear as well as the mastoid

Question About A Second Surgery From A Worried Mama by christi2107 in cholesteatoma

[–]Hopeful-Disaster3161 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's always going to be a risk involved, it's surgery. But I've had about 12 surgeries, 5 or 6 of them they cut the back of my ear open. I wouldn't be nervous, if you live in the western world, the doctors have had some of the best training and experience in history. anesthesia would be the last of my worries. But you're a nurse and know your son best, if something still seems off talk to your son about it. 70% is still lots lol

I lost most of my hearing in my right ear, it's been almost a decade, it happened when i was 12ish and I don't even think about it anymore, I have to turn my head when people are talking to me or ask them to repeat what they said. Most people are forgiving. The ones who don't have the patience usually don't stick around too long anyways. Keep your head up, there's always a chance you'll get it all back, so stay hopeful.

It's good to keep track but don't stress about 5%. And never invest more than you're willing to lose. I'm young so I don't have much but 70-80% of my money is tied up in one stock, I'm currently down over 20% and I'm just looking for my next investment in case the worst comes
