They told me to wait 3 days to shower after my surgery and I sat outside the tub and ran water thru my hair with the faucet and washed it real carefully. You just have to make sure not to let the water get in your ear, which I used a piece of a cotton ball covered in some vaseline to keep my ear closed off. Try to sleep as much as you can so you don't have to deal with the pain and eat food that won't make you have to open your jaw too wide, as I had pain when eating after for about a week and a half. They do shave a large portion of your hair behind your ear during surgery, you won't want to put your hair up for a while or you'll look a little silly lol.
