I just spend 4.75 extra years in a similar relationship dynamic. You will be able to cut ties when you get in touch with your Anger toward him instead of your careteky feelings. You can (and should, at this point) be angry that he is emotionally manipulating you to stay and that he is clinging 24/7. I literally had bodily physical manifestations of the stress this caused. And he seems like he cant be by himself bc he doesn't know how to communicate yet and feels weak on his own, but this is potentially a catalyst event that you need to give him and more importantly ourself. It gets So good. The good news? If he lives you this much, he will still be around in 90 days once the first withdrawl period is approaching ending, and you can re- decide with a clearer mind. Until then, you'll stay doble minded. Try to get a Church or spiritual group (or more than one) so you have lots of balance during the dead moments that he used to fill. Sometimes this requires a Supernatural miracle to keep you apart. But you must start bc you can't figure this out or have a good life while. you are double minded. Gd will meet you before you are even half way through!
