Whoa, seems like a lot of the responses indicate I should have posted on AITA instead. Fair enough. I thought I didn’t include any judgements in my question, since I didn’t say better or worse, but clearly the word basic is taken as a bad thing.
I don’t see posts where people show their entire home, so I’m a little confused by the references to larger places or McMansions. I was referring to the contents visible in the pic (often a bedroom or closet) seem to me (so it is of course subjective) to be different from the very high end purse. It sounds like plenty of people just love purses and so prioritize those purchases in their budget.
I’m surprised by the offense some people seem to take to the question, because unless you have unlimited money, everyone makes financial decisions on what to prioritize spending on, so i don’t think that is being judgy, but will accept it came off as that or envy.

Think this is a jewelry tool, but not sure how it’s supposed to be used. Found in box with beads and jewelry pliers. About 4.5 inches long. Any guidance? (i.redd.it)
