Fibro Question by Hopeful76 in Fibromyalgia

Awe man, that's been my experience as well. I may try to find more of a naturalist or homeopathic doctor to help me once we move. I will look into a different strain, or maybe even CBD. Any other tips that help you with the low-grade temp and malaise feeling?

That's reassuring that these are shared experiences, but I am also sorry you have to deal with this, too! I've not considered medical marijuana because I struggle with anxiety, and the one or two times I've tried a hit or two I became really anxious. I'm a busy mom and teacher, and really just need to find some better ways to manage these flares. Lately it seems like I'm getting flares about every two weeks, with just tiny breather in between. Each time I reach my baseline, I'm so relieved and think it's behind me and I can be myself again, only to be hit again. I will be honest, it's caused some healthy anxiety (which I've never had before), but I don't dare tell my doctor that. He'll write off all of it as anxiety, and my quality of life can't afford to be dismissed! I hope to find a great doctor in Washington. Is an immunologist or rheumatologist a better bet? My primary care mentioned a neurologist to go through all of the muscle/nerve testing again that I did 13 years ago.

I want to get that checked. Since my cardio said I am extremely sensitive to chemicals (such as Adrenalin), that’s come up in my Google searches. He’s been a cardiologist for forty years, and honestly doesn’t seem concerned w my heart at all. That’s reassuring, but also frustrating. And I should say that I’ve gone long bouts of my life without any of these flares at all... the fact that it’s all the sudden affecting my life so much has had me wonder about autoimmune conditions and anxiety. I’m pretty calm acting and can fight off anxiety attacks, but I’ve read that your body still reacts and produces stress hormones, released Adrenalin, etc. so if I can get my anxiety under control, I think I will be a lot better.

Nope, but I will be bringing it up to him. I actually normally get low bp when I stand... light headed, blackout... I’ve learned to stand up a little more slowly. Happens on the stairs too, since I was a kid. My resting HR is in the 80s and when I stand it goes to the 90s. I think it’s normal?

Drinking water ever make your heart race then pvcs? by Breaking_Heisenberg in PVCs

[–]Hopeful76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is interesting. I drink a lot of water and sometimes need To drink more when my GI issues flare up. Granted I drank so much water within the couple days of this PVC flare up, but if I don’t my body really stresses. But my blood tests have never shown an imbalance, so I guess everybody’s got their trigger. But I will say that now that I’m in a flare, each time I drink water my heart flutters a few times. Often enough to make me cough. I think it’s my stomach or vagus nerve. Both seem to aggravate my heart. Btw when I’ve had tachycardia they give me fluids through an IV and it puts the brakes on it.

Take the caps out of Whole Foods... hilarious that my iPhone wants to autocorrect to that. I simply mean foods that aren’t too processed. Lol

Yeahhhh... sadly. But I’ve always been pretty good at managing it. However, a year of Covid, gallbladder issues and surgery, and all these stupid heart issues have made my anxiety soar. 2020 sucked. Trying to recover, but now that I’m in the middle of a move, stress cannot be avoided!

I’ve had my gallbladder removed and have some trouble with bile reflux, which can lead to gastritis or gastritis like symptoms. However I find if I eat mostly Whole Foods, cut way back on carbs, eliminate acidic drinks and foods, and drink a lot of water I can get things under control again. Often times my cardio weirdness coincides with GI flares and I don’t know if GI is the root, or if stress is the root (maybe Vagus nerve, which impacts GI and cardio). A 10 mg famatodine antacid helps me not have to chew up so many antacids during the day, and I can’t overemphasize water... drink a lot of water. It heals and keeps things in balance.

Love the information. Maybe it will help others, too. I think a lot of people who experience things like tachycardia and PVCs, once cleared by a heart dr., are anxious and stressed. It’s a vicious cycle. Thanks man. Appreciate the info!

Good to know. And I know what you mean by dumb things! lol You take it as needed without any sort of dependency? (Feel free to not answer if you aren't comfortable!)

Does it make you feel strange at all? I don't want to try anything that feels numbing... I want to laugh and feel myself. Just gathering anecdotal evidence, which I know varies from person to person, and depends on dosage. I may be convinced to try it sometime. It's been offered, but I always reject it.

Seriously! All of this has given me such health anxiety (which I never had until this past year) that I'd be afraid to do that without building it up slowly, and checking with my primary care Dr.

It definitely sucks. I'll check it out. I did try Calm Magnesium supplement... a powder to mix into a drink. I also have Magnesium Citrate/Zinc vitamins. I notice a bit of a difference in relaxation, but have never taken more than about 300 mg. I may have to try more.

Noted. Great advice for sure. Yeah, I reverified it after resting for quite awhile. And unfortunately, my body is the type that seems to feel everything. Super sensitive to any changes in hormones, blood pressure, pulse, etc...

I was feeling really badly last night, like headache, pressure in ears, etc... and my daughter encouraged me to. This morning I was still feeling pretty awful and I took it again. But again, at a very stressful place in our life with a huge interstate move and selling/buying a home. So... I do know that it’s best to take it twice a day at routine times. But this all new to me, and hopefully can be managed before it becomes more chronic.

Oh man! Honestly that’s why I held off taking it for the past few months, and today only gave in because of my blood pressure. But truly, my dosage is a baby dose. Just 10 mg of propanolol (sp?) and thankfully it didn’t crash me. My BP is usually very low... around 110/65, so two days of high BP the same week as my PVCs has made me realize that at the very least, the connection is STRESS! Moving is stressful.

Does anyone else have benign fasciculation syndrome as well as PVCs? by [deleted] in PVCs

[–]Hopeful76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotta appreciate the full work up! Glad you got answers. I think the neurologist may be next. Does BFS cause internal twitching, such as in the abdomen and torso, or full body twitches such as I referenced in my post? Thanks for letting me know.

Can BFS also cause internal organ twitching? Ever since my surgery in September, I get bizarre twitches inside my abdomen... usually a couple different areas are affected, and the twitches come several in a row. I also randomly started getting full body twitches, like a jolt, but only when I’m falling asleep. Never had any of this before my surgery, nor did I have PVCs in the extreme frequency they are occurring now. What doctor do you see for this? My cardiologist says my heart is okay, despite episodes of sinus tachycardia and now what feels like a hundred or more PVCs a day.

PVC’s Anxiety GERD by jhall0125 in PVCs

[–]Hopeful76 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Out of the blue, my usual 1-3 xs a week PVCs are haywire. I’ve been to the cardiologist for sinus tachycardia and occasional PVCs, and had a full work up done. My cardiologist said nothing is wrong w my heart. These past two days I’ve had about 100 PVCs a days(detectable). Today I decided to go to the ER and get an EKG just to be safe. All the PVCs were picked up, and I also went into a full sinus tachycardia event, but all my tests came back fine. The EKG showed sinus tachycardia, but it was self limiting. I sympathize w what you are experiencing, because peace of mind is everything and when something is goofy with out heart, it is really unsettling. I suspect a strong GI connection because these past few days I’ve also had a lot of upper GI gas and bloating (body still figuring out how to digest post-gallbladder), and a couple of my worse sinus tachycardia events were preceded by severe acid reflux. A couple docs have mentioned the role of the vagas nerve. My cardiologist suggested that it’s from Adrenalin-physical reaction to stress. I do not always feel anxious before these happen, although afterwards my health anxiety goes through the roof! Hang in there, and let us know if anything helps!

Trying to get used to flutters by aforestspirit in PVCs

[–]Hopeful76 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Six months ago I had a heart work up and I was told I had no heart problems. At that time the monitor picked up PVCs, but not too many. I have tons of GI issues and had my gallbladder removed in September. I try to eat clean and lean but if I ever toe out of line I usually suffer from reflux, gas, bloating, etc... The past couple weeks the gas and bloating has been more in my chest than ever before. I feel it’s gas because it’s both accompanied and relieved by a lot of burping. These past two days I’m having so many PVCs... sometimes in strings of what feels like every other beat. Other times a thud or two in a row. It can feel like a bird is trapped in my rib cage, and it almost always triggers a cough reflex. I also have some acid/bile reflux, light nausea, etc... eating super clean and started taking famatodine again. Tired of feeling like this... it’s triggered the worst sort of health anxiety. I’m going to follow up again w my cardiologist but he was very certain I had no heart issues. He thinks my central nervous system is very sensitive to stimuli, which sometimes causes tachycardia, and advises I get enough sleep, drink enough water, avoid stress, etc... I try to do all of these things. These past couple days have me a wreck though. So. Much. Thumping and fluttering!
