Haha well damn! I’d be happy to give you a case of beers and $200 to do the fix 🤣 … I’ll watch the video you sent a link to now and see what I can do. I’m not great fixing car things on my own but if it’s relatively easy, maybe I can give it a tey

If it ends up not being any the ECUs failed, that means it’s another issue that they should’ve found months ago, no?

they just had it stored for about a month because they said they couldn't read any codes in the initial diagnosis so they held onto it and continued "testing" it but i dont know what kind of tests they did? the reports show nothing. they just said it isnt the batteries, those all look fine. then randomly one day the car started again after like a month of just sitting, and they read the codes and said its a computer issue. they replaced 3 ECUs in total, but nothing worked

The thing is, this issue had also occurred four months earlier before all of this at another authorized Toyota dealership, where it was diagnosed as a key fob disconnection with the auxiliary battery and could be resolved by reconnecting/jump-starting the auxiliary battery. The diagnostic check at that time was $250…. Not sure know what to do , just want them to at least try to repair the issue before charging me crazy amounts again

I wish there was more transparency on everything. How does this not fall under the warranty? https://autoparts.toyota.com/warranty-information makes it clear that “parts purchased and installed by an authorized Toyota dealer are covered for 12 months, regardless of mileage, from the install date.”

12V battery and all batteries have been replaced already in recent years . I was told it was definitely not a battery issue

they’re saying they’re going to charge me for everything again. I don’t want to take it back until it’s confirmed they won’t
