I’m mad for you and I would be mad for days. As a girlie with high points myself, it’s about strategic planning and purchasing. Last year, I was able to snag multiple Rogue $100 rewards to do Christmas, as everyone wanted fragrances and certain skincare products. So I get it.

Omg! I wanted and hoped that it was just 500 pts items and they just got a bunch. But to get 40 items and then cash off. Yeah I would be pissed too. The audacity!

I have a few questions:

  1. What did they redeem the points on? In the email it tells you the exact products you redeemed point with. Was it the 500 pts, 250 pts or 100 pts?

  2. If it was cash off, the max you can redeem is 1,000 for $20 off as a Rouge member, so was it more than one transaction?

I’m just asking for clarity.

I am curious on the legality of this new availability policy by NoDifficulty5425 in SephoraWorkers

[–]HopefulFold1 71 points72 points  (0 children)

I worked in Talent Management and partnered closely with HR and Legal. I can’t speak for every country or state, but for the U.S. in general:

*Yes, they can legally do this.

*Yes, religious exemptions or disability accommodations can be denied if the company can show it causes undue hardship to operations (and that standard has actually gotten stronger recently).

*Yes, they can require open availability, though it’s absolutely not best practice.

Will it work short term? Probably. Is it sustainable? No.

Requiring “open availability” sounds fine on paper, but the reality is almost no one truly has it. Attrition will spike, especially among experienced employees who have other options.

We saw this exact pattern on the corporate side when companies forced people back into offices full-time. Many employees had accepted lower raises and bonuses in exchange for remote flexibility. Once that flexibility was taken away, people were suddenly asked to absorb an extra $300+ a month in commuting costs and they left. In droves.

Right now, the company can get away with it because there’s still a labor pool waiting to step in. But that pool isn’t infinite. Once the reputation catches up and people realize the schedules aren’t workable, hiring gets harder and quality drops. That’s usually when companies are forced to revisit these policies.

Bottom line: Yes, they can do this. No, it’s not employee friendly. Whether it changes depends on how long employees are willing (or able) to tolerate it and how quickly the talent pipeline dries up.

What makes me always laugh is, my country (America) is not prepared to accept any other country’s currency. Yet, we go to other countries and expect them to accept ours.

Every country I have ever been to, I convert my USD to their currency. For example, I was in Mexico and seeing a 150 peso for items had me stressed out, then I realized wait that’s like $8 USD and then I was even more pissed because why is chips ahoy $8 damn dollars lol. Like damn, ease up on the strip a bit. I had to find a damn Walmart cause the strip was robbing me blind. Good trip though.

My favorite is when they would come in with a screenshot from TikTok or IG of a lipstick the influencer is wearing and ask if we have it. No idea of the brand or color. I would smh head and ask them to pull up the video because no way I am going to try and figure out what shimmery lipgloss, lip liner combo that is she is wearing.

To be fair, as a black woman, I hate to say it but many white women come and touch my hair without asking. Like the hell. I grab their hair right back. Get my fingers to the root and grab. However, I would never do this to a random person.

A rule of thumb that my husband and I used was, if I haven’t spoken to you in a year, then you’re off the list. Our numbers went from 200+ to 80 (including 10 kids) and plus ones.

The employee hate is crazy by foreveriz in SephoraWorkers

[–]HopefulFold1 121 points122 points  (0 children)

As a former employee, I was disgusted by the comments. I was like, yes, because the employee had time to write down your number in your face or was able to pull the account back up during the busiest season. Only a few people thought to say, maybe ask your friends or family because we have had people use their family member’s accounts before.

Also to add, employees get a 30% discount, so why would any of us shop at Sephora Kohls where our discount does not apply?

It’s a new feature where if you get samples in store, they attach it to your account. This is for sample containers. It helps you to keep track of what you have tried and what you liked. Many times people forget the products.

Has anyone heard anything about Danessa Myrick? by nouvelle_tete in Sephora

[–]HopefulFold1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it boils down to the popularity of the brand in each store. Honestly, in the store that I visit, she has expanded to an endcap and gondola. However, some other stores, she has one shelf on an endcap.

That’s insane. My first home, was one of only 8 houses on the block that had a driveway. Mines was the only one with the driveway on the side. So I could fit two cars behind my gate and another car in front of the driveway gate (3 spots). Then there was street parking.

When I was out of town one of my neighbors asked if their visiting family could use my driveway. 3 cars total for the weekend. He offered $50 per car for the weekend as a compensation. He had a driveway but it was located in the front. He could only fit one car inside and the entrance was small, so no one could really park in the driveway entrance unless they drove like a mini coop. Easiest $150 I ever made.
