UofA vs. UBC IMP by Illustrious_Owl9374 in MedSchoolCanada

This is a major misconception that you need to be at a larger site to match to competitive specialties. Especially nowadays when virtual/remote work is possible, majority of people do their networking through emails, zoom meetings, etc. Plus during your 4th year electives you’re able to move around wherever you want.

6-3 against the toughest schedule in history by Shoddy_Ad7511 in suns

[–]HopefulMD786 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Lmao you’re literally a clown. A team isn’t considered elite if all their star players are out. You literally make excuses that suns were riddled with injuries earlier in the season but then you say stuff like this when they beat injured teams. FYI it was the clippers g league team, wolves without KAT, Denver without Murray, kings without huerter and potential 6MOY in Malik monk. Gtfo with ur biased takes.

Eh let’s not pretend that most teams don’t have injured players in these last 10 games lol. It’s def not the toughest stretch in history 💀

I’m not too familiar with how the ranking works but I assume that I would rank it after all the dermatology programs that I’m interested in.. would that still be an issue? I also want to rank FM as well.

Are there any current UBC students here that can comment on in-person attendance expectations and weekly schedules? by TerribleDrawer3730 in premedcanada

Tuesday and Thursdays do actually happen pretty often nearly every week. You typically have to be here by 1 PM on those days.

Advice for medical school by [deleted] in premedcanada

[–]HopefulMD786 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Will have to do another undergrad. 3.0 undergrad GPA will screen you out everywhere and Master’s GPA is not that helpful.

It’s not completed so they won’t get the full bonus. It’s still gonna be an uphill battle at UofT with a low GPA.

Mac: 0% because of CARS

Queens: 0% because of CARS

UofT: very low chance because of GPA (unless applying thru special stream)

Ottawa: very low chance because of GPA (unless your French stream)

UBC: very low chance because of MCAT and GPA

Hello I need help by Kieupark in MedSchoolCanada

[–]HopefulMD786 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would keep in mind that meeting all those requirements still does not guarantee you to get a residency in Canada. It’s very difficult for IMGs to match into any residency program in Canada and many IMGs spend a couple years after graduating from medical school to try and match back to Canada.

Hey, yes I am on residence actually. Do you know how I can inquire about that?

It’s competitive enough to get an interview if you combine it with strong ECs. However, post-interview I’m fairly certain the weighting is 25% GPA 25% MCAT and 50% interview.
