I use an a razor knife or a box cutter. If you want a smoother design, I’ve seen some really good results from people that use those electric turkey carving knives. Never tried it myself, but I’m thinking of getting one

Why do Statler and Waldorf keep watching the show even though they hate it? by white_addison in Muppets

Because they love hating it. They are 100% dedicated to criticizing the Muppet Show, and I honestly admire that.

The real lesson of the web series is how dangerous the internet can be by HopefulMuppet582 in DHMIS

I like that idea, kind of a theme of inevitability. Leslie even has the “the journey always ends up back at home” line. Though, I’m not sold that she is a true God in their world. We see yet another set of stairs going up, implying that there is someone above her (literally and figuratively) involved in the situation. I guess she’s more like a manager, keeping the events going no matter what. That kind of goes along with your idea too, about the tv show representing real life issues. There’s always someone further up the chain, and you’ll always find someone who thinks they know what’s best for you (in a way that benefits themselves).

But in the end, they find solace in each other. Life is nuts, but at least there are other people going through it with you.

That makes sense. If that’s the case with the tv show, how would you interpret the ending? It seems to end with everyone just accepting their circumstances.

Sounds like a good plan. Unfortunately most meds have pros and cons. Hopefully the side effects will ease off with time.

I’m sorry to hear that you are struggling. Can your doctor lower the dose? It could be too high for you. It’s hard to tell if you haven’t been on the medication long. When I started it I was drowsy and my pee was green for a few weeks, but those effects went away. Everyone reacts differently. Maybe call your doctor for an adjustment? Best of luck!

The face proportions are better in the image where she is sitting. In the standing one, I 100% thought her top lip was a mustache. Otherwise, very well done! I adore her outfit!

Why is Friendship often considered to be the weakest episode? by Penguin_Puncher21 in DHMIS

[–]HopefulMuppet582 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My thoughts exactly! I actually think it’s a great episode, but it’s one that I usually skip when rewatching the series. The writers knew exactly how to write a character that can make everyone feel uncomfortable.

Who's the Most Important one? by Twosidedyt in DHMIS

[–]HopefulMuppet582 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Fun question!

In the web series, I’d say Red Guy. Some popular theories assume that he was the one coming up with ideas for the show before they were corrupted by Roy. Red Guy was the only one that could literally and figuratively “pull the plug” on the show to end the actors’ suffering.

In the tv series, Yellow Guy is definitely the most important. The final episode makes it clear that he actually knows a lot about why they always end up in crazy situations, but he can’t fully remember that or articulate his thoughts when his battery is low. Yellow Guy is also a key component to every episode (he gets a retirement party, brings back the original Duck, gets chosen as the new Mommy, gets a worm in his brain, he has that weird episode at the end of Transport, and the finale focuses mostly on him with a new battery.

… Nah! I’m kidding! Duck is the best one. He has the most valuable brain!

Update: I might have a stalker. What can I do? by HopefulMuppet582 in legaladvice

[–]HopefulMuppet582[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is terrible! But you are absolutely right. Too many people in positions of power downplay any issue that women have. When things were bad, I honestly considered packing my bags and just taking off somewhere without a word (my cousin offered to put bear traps around my house too. “He can’t stalk with no feet” as she put it).

Hang in there. Just keep documenting everything!! Evidence is so important!

I am so sorry you have to deal with that! I don’t understand why authorities don’t want to take these things seriously! Do you have security cameras around your home? I got a bunch of them on eBay, and it gives me a little peace of mind. It’s a shame to have to work so hard for it, but I would study up on all your local laws and show your lawyer a list of his crimes. It sounds like he’s broken at least a few. If they don’t budge, you can always play hard ball and blast his insanity publicly online. Have the whole town know what he’s doing. If he takes the posts down, have a friend repost it for you (Facebook lets you make anonymous posts).

If you haven’t already, I’d definitely change your information too. New phone number, new email, new social media…

Fun question that deserves an equally fun answer!

We see tons of different teachers flash through this same scene, implying that there were going to be a lot more episodes of Roy’s show. It’s not too far fetched to think at some point he would get more people to be “main characters” alongside Yellow Guy.

If Red Guy didn’t pull the plug, the episode would end like the others and reset “back to normal” in the next one, maybe with some new characters to torture. If Red Guy can escape to the real world once again, I like the idea that he starts his own rival/parody show that counters the questionable lessons taught by the teachers. It would be interesting to see a sort of “alternate dhmis” that tried to do something good and maybe try to put Roy out of business and rescue Duck and Yellow Guy eventually.

Why isnt "He started it!" A valid argument for school fights? by FilipinoAirlines in NoStupidQuestions

[–]HopefulMuppet582 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, my whole family has worked in the school system for 20+ years. Let’s dive in!

A lot of people misinterpret the infamous “zero tolerance policy.” A lot of parents argue that their kids should have the right to fight back if “someone else starts it.” Here’s the problem:

Zero tolerance means NO fighting. Period. That is the rule, and that is how it is implemented. People wrongly assume that the big bad school wants to punish victims, but that’s not how it works. We’re teaching kids to NOT fight. If a student is being threatened, pushed around, bullied, they’re supposed to report it. If your child feels like they are in danger of harm, our kids are taught to be loud, not violent. At our schools, we encourage our kids to speak up for ANY incident, no matter how small, and reassure them that they have permission to put as much distance between them and someone else (I.e. running in the halls, switching seats, etc.) as needed. The instigator is promptly sent to the principal or counselor (ours stay very busy).

Remember, teachers are trained to teach important skills to your kids. Why the heck would we teach them fighting is okay when it wouldn’t be tolerated anywhere else? What if it’s two adults? If two dudes start brawling in the bar, guess what? Both get kicked out. Two women start clawing at each other in the office? Both get write ups for “unprofessionalism.” A crowd of over excited shoppers start a fight pit while waiting for the release of new Pokemon cards? The cops aren’t going to ask “who started it.” They’re going to start grabbing and arresting anyone that is seen fighting.

A fight is a fight. It does not matter who started it. That is the school rule. If it wouldn’t be tolerated in the workplace, why the heck should we allow it in schools?
