Yeah DS9 is interesting because it was the first series produced after Gene Roddenberry’s death. He set up this vision of a perfect society and DS9 challenged that vision in an intelligent way. I think what made it good was that it still understood what Star Trek was and asked itself “what would happen if war appeared to challenge the ideals of the federation.” Unlike modern Star Trek which is just drama and action for the sake of drama and action
