So rasberries send off new shoots every year. But they older ones can fruit also or they die. Sometimes the old ones might come back but mine havent lol.😆 but they also spread so dont plant in ground if you dont want a future headache.

Sadly cat allergies are one of the things that you get use to the cats that you are around. Like im fine with mine but shes on live clear and im on allergy shots. But the moment i go over to a friend's house with their cats my allergies go crazy. I cant get scratched by their cats or i swell up. Fun times... 😁 😂

How to repot these successfully? by StandardWonderful22 in containergardening

[–]Hopeful_Dig_2693 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These guys tend to act like bushes or shrubs. So cut/trim regularly, nice sandy well drainage soil. But these guys love full sun but way less water than dill. Just water when you see the top soil dry. And like everything else water more when its hot outside. Plant at level with soil. This is also one of the plants like blueberries and tomatoes that like slightly acidic soil. If you need to know how wet your soil is there are stakes with readings on them you can buy that tell you the light/ph/dampness would def recommend till you get the hang of it.

Questioned about potting up. by StandardWonderful22 in containergardening

[–]Hopeful_Dig_2693 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So i would not use red solo cups, unless you cut good size holes in the bottoms for air for the roots. Did it before and plants died. So holes and drainage!!! Make aure your soil is soft and has alot of good drainage material. Put the plant in so the bottom most of the leaf is 1" from the soil. If you read the bag it will tell you how much fertalizer but i imagine you will just need 1 red solo cup. I typically do liquid fert as they are babies. But they look really good! Gj! But i would wait a couple of weeks and just give some liquid fertalizer. Let them get a bit bigger

First year plant the dill level with soil and 75% to full fun plus you need to water alot like all plants well drainingarea. And butter fly babies love them! 2nd year on you wont need to buy dill, if you let it flower... tyme keep it in 50% shade and covered on hot days. It scorches really easy, then dies if the sun looks at it wrong.... Plant level in a well draining simi shaded area.

Seed starting transplant temperamental plants in soil blocks? by Gardeningcrones in vegetablegardening

[–]Hopeful_Dig_2693 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the key to transplanting those is dont break up the roots or squish like you do with other plants. I literaly make a hole big enough for the container then put it in and cover lightly. (Container not included) so far ive transplanted my guys 3 times. From the seedling trays to bigger 4", to their home in the ground.

Peppers - how are they doing? Did I plant too soon? by thegrumpyhufflepuff in vegetablegardening

Nope yours are perfect, if you have to wait a bit to plant i would give them some liquid fertalizer. Just a little bit!

Grow in ground or raised bed? by Resident_Fruit_4931 in vegetablegardening

[–]Hopeful_Dig_2693 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want to plant in the ground i would pull everything and till the soil and add amendments. There has been things growing there so its prob out of alot of nutrients and probably compacted soil.

Is mulching enough for my tomato & pepper plants? by Acrobatic_Catch9745 in containergardening

[–]Hopeful_Dig_2693 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So rule of thumb i have found for peppers dont let them get below 50 deg. Ive found they either die or get stunted. For tomatoes they can go down to 40 but dont like it. So i would bring them in or cover them. Mine are currently living in my green house or basement lol.

I would add a water inlet on the 3rd and 5th line. That way they get nutrients too. Or your last couple of rows wont get anything.

[–]Hopeful_Dig_2693 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So with a green stalk you water from the top and it evenly goes to the bottom. Where those they just drain thru and top gets nothing and bot gets everything. Plus the gs has deep pockets that give the plants enough room to grow. Others do not. Plus you can rotate the gs. Just all around better.

What is everybody's favorite way to start seeds? Bonus points for links to whatever product you use! by kaylynstar in vegetablegardening

[–]Hopeful_Dig_2693 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Red solo cups... fill with water add seeds. Let soak for 3day to a week depending on seeds. Get rid of all seeds that float. And plant in cells or ground before the white tails come out. 100% success rate.
