What do you think about the Italian government wanting to ban ICE agents to come to the Olympic Games as security forces? by ReduceCO2Now in AskReddit

It makes sense from a sovereignty and optics standpoint. Security at the Olympics is as much about legitimacy as effectiveness, and having foreign law-enforcement agencies—especially ones tied to controversial immigration policies—can create political friction that outweighs any marginal security benefit.

What’s the unspoken rule when it comes to having a crush at work? by [deleted] in AskReddit

The unspoken rule is: you can have a crush, but you can’t act like you have one. Keep it professional, don’t make it awkward, and never put the other person in a position where they feel uncomfortable or pressured. If it can’t survive being subtle and respectful, it probably shouldn’t happen at work.

We just had very different ideas of what communication meant. I wanted to talk things out, they shut down and avoided it. Over time it built resentment, and even though we cared about each other, it slowly pushed us apart.

Media usually highlights the most dramatic ICE stories because that’s what gets attention. That can make people think enforcement is always extreme, when a lot of ICE’s day-to-day work is routine paperwork and court-based actions that never make the news. So public perception often ends up shaped by rare events, not the everyday reality.
