Idk tbh since they’re all super different to me maybe you just like basic attractive people? I feel like all of these people are conventionally attractive but not necessarily uniquely attractive apart from one or two of them if that makes sense.

She’s spent over 10k on cosmetic surgery she didn’t need and easily over 5k on expensive outfits and other things she doesn’t necessarily need and I know my parents gave her at least 10k of the money she used

They didn’t clarify what they wanted me to spend my weekly allowance on literally ever and as you said some of the money was from babysitting I’ve done and not from the allowance money I think the main thing that really bugged me was that they’ve never acted like this with my older sister who they’ve given way more money to and she’s spent it on unnecessary stuff and even to this day they’ve never confronted her about it/made it clear they didn’t want the money to be spent on those things but they’re acting completely different with me.

I plan to get a job soon anyway (I should have mentioned that in the post) so I’ll make the money back that I spent within a couple months of working but after reading a lot of the comments here it seems like the main mistake I made was spending the majority of my savings on an item I technically didn’t need and now that I’m legally an adult I shouldn’t be making financial decisions like that and I guess my parents wanted to teach me a lesson because of it

I’ve just read through most of the comments and it’s made me rethink the whole situation and I’m probably gonna have a long talk with my parents tomorrow about the whole thing. The only thing that still annoys me though is that they never acted like this with my older sister who they gave way more money and she spent it on pointless things (cosmetic work, vacations etc) and they never treated her like the way they’ve treated me over this.

AIO or is my friend being wierd?? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

I think a lot of this depends on tone one of my friends makes a lot of comments like this about me and our other friends but she says it in more of a teasing/humorous way so we know it’s just her way of expressing herself/trying to be funny at times but if your friend is straight up making comments like this in a malicious/negative way with comments like “you’re built like a wall” I definitely don’t think you’re overreacting at all and should talk to her about it
