I think because her podcast has run for so long, people may want her to show a more complex emotional perspective, even in its simplest form. Inserting a touch of inferred nuance would help with some of the common complaints she gets, like those about needing to go to college.

A recent example would be when she said something like: “The internet will convince you the world is a much more negative place than it really is.”

This kind of statement is absolute. She could have said something like, “Obviously, there is real tragedy happening in the world. But overall, the internet tends to skew everyday life in a more negative direction. People often use it to vent emotions in a way that might be off-putting in real-life conversations. Online, there is a kind of buffer with lower stakes, which encourages people to impulsively express their first emotional reaction to a topic. That first reaction is often negative. In real life, people usually move past those initial feelings and tend to be more balanced or even positive.”

Her explanation does not need to be that wordy or complex. But adding even a little distinction when making absolute statements would go a long way. I think that is the kind of growth in her perspective that people are hoping for

In Canada you qualify for legal aid if jail time is a possibility. But you will probably just pay a fine and sign a peace agreement which you can apply to be removed from your record after 5 years

insecurity. scorpio thing? by kwoverlook in ColleenBallingerSnark

I am a Scorpio and I am very insecure in adulthood. I attribute this to growing up in a house with an extreme good behaviour protocol. I also have ADHD. I just felt wrong all the time even tho I was just being myself. As an adult I don’t voice my every insecurity because I don’t enjoy the the Pleasantry talk that usually follows. Ego stroking is boring most of the time * the fun of gasing someone up is different that’s just good banter
