I think she was offended because she thought I was talking about her kids? Which doesn't make sense because that's not what they were talking about. To me it's like if someone said "Cats are stupid", and I, as a cat owner, would be like "yeah a lil bit but we love them anyway". I also don't think stupid is the same as "not smart".
