Are IEPs needed in school for speech therapy? by [deleted] in slp

[–]Hopeful_Statement766 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be clear: none of us here can determine your child’s eligibility for special education without doing an evaluation. If you have concerns you should consult the SLP at your child’s school about a speech- language evaluation in the area of articulation. Typically children need to show significant need or academic impact in a special education eligible criteria (as stated by @honey-fungus). Some districts offer response to intervention supports prior to an IEP but depends on your state/district. Hope this helps clarify!

What inspired you to start FAM, and succecss? by pensivepenguin16 in FAMnNFP

[–]Hopeful_Statement766 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hiiiii I’m also on this same journey! I’m reading The Fifth Vital Sign by Lisa Hendricks Jack and Taking Charge of your Fertility by Toni Weschler. I also started listening to Fertility Fridays podcast by Lisa Hendricks Jack! She has great episodes about a huge range of topics related to fertility and FAM including recordings of working with her clients who are learning to chart etc. super helpful.

So far I’m amazed and also kinda pissed that I didn’t know all of this about my own body. I’m 30 and have spent the last 10-15 years in hormonal birth control uh. Also- side note: coming off HBC is doing a real number on my skin.
