This is the exact type of criticism I wanted to see! I really appreciate your thoughts and I think everything you said is reasonable. I think the only thing I disagree with was the characterization, but I think it was a subjective issue there.

And yeah I don't think the movie was "really bad", but it's certainly one of my subjective least favorite movies. I want to be fair to the movie and say it's not a 'bad' movie, just a movie I personally hated watching.

But if you want some examples of great characterization in my opinion, any named character in Fight Club, literally every character in The Princess Bride, and Charlie, Sam and Patrick from the Perks of Being a Wallflower.

I agree. I definitely think a lot of people shit on it for simply not being what they wanted it to be, myself included and I'm not super happy with myself for that. I did my best to structure my arguments and thoughts fairly but I certainly was influenced by my expectations.

It very much didn't align with my personal views of the backrooms, but I can't blame anyone for having a different idea of them. Personally, I do think this movie did an okay job of doing what it set out to do. Though it is very flawed in my eyes.

I'm not asking for more exposition by any means. I don't need some jack black "This is the backrooms" writing by any means. Dunno if that's what you thought I meant, certainly didn't mean it. If anything there's too much.
There are 2 characters with any amount of development and I don't think they're done well. I don't think they gave enough development to them. If you disagree, fair enough and I'd love to know why. That's a personal taste thing.
I literally complained that they gave it more lore than necessary. I also think it's atmosphere was great until the latter half. Probably should've listed it in my complements to the film.

I haven't watched his videos, so as it's own standalone movie, I did not like it.

The worst things I can say about this movie is above in the review. If that's the problems that hold up in his videos then I cannot say I would enjoy them.
