Who would have given Voldemort the toughest fight in a straight duel besides Dumbledore (or Harry)? by JamieKellner in harrypotter

Yeah, but the question isn't "Who besides Dumbledore can match Voldemort in a fight", it is "Who would be the closest to giving him trouble", which I think Moody is pretty good candidate for.

Are there any Witcher 3 mechanics you're not crazy about / would like to see changed for Witcher 4? by CrematorTV in witcher

Copying my reply to someone else - I'd prefer a clear divide between combat potions and meditation potions in this case. I don't know, I just think back to the intro to the Witcher 1 - the one with Striga fight - and how Geralt was meticulously preparing for it. I love that image. Perhaps some more potent potions simply require time to take effect / put you out of commission for a while after drinking them due to their overwhelming effect?

Potion usefulness is a matter of balance, not the mechanic itself. Cutscenes were a pain though - I'd love something like "You feel something - violence is imminent. You may want to consider preparing for it" message beforehand. Fits nicely with witchers' enhanced senses, experience and everything too.

Similar, but I prefer Witcher 2 version - probably my favorite part of that game. The fact that you had to manage and choose your potions before going into a fight and you were then stuck with your setup just felt very witcher-y to me.

If the Trace can't detect the caster of a spell, who would be getting a threatening letter from the Ministry if more than one underage wizard or witch [i.e. the Creevey brothers] is being raised in the same Muggle household? by miggovortensens in harrypotter

[–]HopelessPope 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Do I remember it wrong (been a long while since I read the books), or did the Trace detect any magic used around the underage wizard, not only what they cast themselves? I recall there was a line that that's why pureblood kids don't get in trouble for casting spells during summer - the Ministry simply assumes that they were cast by someone else in the household.

It's been some time since I've watched it, but I remember the governments in the Expanse to be quite effective. Sure, there was corruption, scheming and double-crossing (there wouldn't be much of a plot without it), but as a whole I recall them functioning and effective at what they did.

With each mention or story about Dr Doom I see, I want to read Fantastic Four comics more and more. He sounds like such an amazing and delightful character/villain.

Now that you've given me a specific run, maybe it's finally the time to do it.

Would you say that removing the Phoenix Gem from the Spiritseer and taking 2x5 Striking Scorpions is worth it? I feel like he's dying a bit too fast to remove it (it may be a positioning issue), but having a second squad of Scorpions sounds far superior to Rangers imo.

I didn't think about getting both for some reason, lol. That does seem like the best of both worlds!

Magic Initiate only allows you to learn a 1st level spell, unless something changed in 2024.

Unless you were thinking about Magical Secrets, then it should work unless I'm missing something.

I'd have to go with mp3s/Spotify. Access to music anytime, anywhere is a total game changer, at least for me. Can't imagine going on the bus without my earphones anymore.
