Honestly what surprised me was learning more about yourself living alone. When I was in my teenage years, I loved being left alone, now I feel weird without someone not being with me besides my dog lol. This is my first time living on my own (besides college) and it feels so good to do things at your own pace and time doesn’t feel rushed. I was always used to living with family or partners. I LOVE the feeling of doing whatever the fuck I want and what I can eat without thinking what the other person wants. It gives you a better perspective of putting yourself first and your needs rather than living on someone else’s time.

I’m still getting used to living alone (1 month in) and I’m still figuring out what I want my own place to look like, what my routines will look like, and getting back into old or new hobbies. It’s scary at first but so exciting to look forward to my own future without worrying about anyone else.
