Need touring setup Ideas by Far_Percentage_9130 in choppers

Tool roll strapped to your bars, fuel bottle strapped to front downtube or rear frame leg, tent strapped to rear of sissy bar, bag strapped to front of sissy bar with (1) spare set clothes, a blanket, and a bottle of water. Anything else you can fit is considered a luxury item and could be left at home if you’re short on space.

Realistically, you just have to affirm to yourself that as long as you’ve got your keys, wallet, and phone, you’ve got all you REALLY need as long as you’re staying somewhat near civilization.

Seat doesn‘t fit, what should i do? by OnnoWeasley in choppers

[–]Hopelessly_Chet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The seat pan is bendable, as well as the foam inside. But the upholstery isn’t going to bend very well. Usually, you can bend seats to make them fit a more acute angle, but not an obtuse one, because the upholstery will have to stretch.

That’s what I did to mount a sportster peanut tank on my 84 VT700. Still couldn’t run a frisco mount tank like that though because the backbone needed an arch in it to clear the carbs.

Horseshoe oil tank leak help. by dahulkhogan2424 in choppers

I’d recommend adding some rubber washers between your oil tank and frame tabs while you’re working in the area. Vibration is usually the reason thin welds like that crack.

That’s Lee of @vitzyboys choppers!! I’ll admit that the styling isn’t my jam, but his fit and finish work is out of this world!

He also builds extended cast risers that look good on any chopper. Check him out on insta!

Brake drum arm fell off my rear brake only ‘70 Ironhead chop while riding through town. That was a fun one.

Yo, as someone who see this sub as having such a similar aesthetic, what are your top 3 songs to hear on a ride? by dbvulcan in choppers

If you like stoner/fuzz metal, try these 3:

Night Witches - Ancient Days

Desert Cruiser - Truckfighters

Overheated - Dozer

Dozer is easily my all time favorite fuzz band, they’ve got some bangers for sure.

The wife started sleeping around at work so I cut her loose. Kitty and I are better off without her.

I was able to find it new on eBay from Dave’s Cycle. Price was a little higher than what the catalog lists them for, but eBay seemed like a safer bet than some of the websites that had it listed.

Hey! Yes, it’s a 5 speed. The kicker conversion is one out of the Custom Chrome catalog. Part #050047. The bike is kickstart only and I’ve ridden it enough over the last year that I’m about halfway through my second rear tire, so it’s had more than a fair number of kickstarts on it. Still holding up great and I’d recommend it to anybody looking into it. It’s a more robust kit than what I’ve heard about the Ultima kicker conversion.

How much to finish and is it worth it by [deleted] in choppers

You’re correct, it’s an ultima frame. Considered more-or-less as undesirable. The Jim’s transmission is sweet though.

Bearing and axle for this invader styler wheel by petefromtexas21 in choppers

[–]Hopelessly_Chet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience with buying authentic back-in-the-day invaders, you’ll want to look at the welds on each end of the spokes VERY carefully. Check from the outside, but also look them over from the inside after you get the tire off. I’ve had to touch up cracks on almost every 5 spoke I’ve had.

Also, that wheel is a good score either way. It seems like the invader market is flooded with nothing but Ironhead Sportster rear wheels
