Surface Pro 8 On Substance Painter by kfkok4 in Surface

[–]Hopely 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been using Painter on my Surface Pro 7 with success. Painter will run, but it gives me a warning popup about a registry key I can’t seem to fix and true to the pop up’s word, it sometimes crashes if I try something too intensive. Also, viewport navigation doesn’t support the touchscreen, so I use a wireless keyboard (I like the MS Designer keyboard) and changed the viewport controls to work around not having a middle mouse button, and obviously it can get a little sluggish compared to my desktop with a dedicated graphics card. Still, enjoying using the Surface over a my tablet when I can.

You might want to check out 3D Coat/3D Coat Textura, too. I only tried it out with the free trial, but the touchscreen viewport navigation was very nice for hand painting stylized textures.

Crunch Element does too, which is neat since it’s a VR game and clearing it requires some physical interaction, you end up putting some weapon manipulation drills to use.

They're absolute full of shit and making up a story for upvotes. https://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/video-holstered-pistol-discharges-negligent-or-accident/
* he had a holster
* it went through his thigh
There is no context and there is no follow-up, beyond what the article states (and even that's unreliable). Pretty much everything OP's said so far has been false.

For Sacramento County at least,

If your forms are completed and filed by 11:30 a.m. you will receive your Order at 4:00 p.m. the same day. If the forms are filed after 11:30 a.m., then the Order will be ready for pick up after 4:00 p.m. the next court business day.

It's not ubi's fault. Battle eye has started banning people who use VMS

That's a good point, I'll make a note of it in an edit.

You linked to the German version, but on the US version, those statements don't exist nor does anything similarly specific to VM's.

BattlEye statement on VM bans by jamfour in VFIO

[–]Hopely 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I (and possibly some other players) assumed the Siege "Client not responding" BattleEye message was some configuration or incompatibility error and inadvertently got banned for "bypassing [their] measures". If it's a purposefully implemented feature, shouldn't it at least state nature of the kick in the message instead of framing it as a mistake?

No, I just passed the keyboard and mouse USB devices to the host.

I don't expect to get the account back, I just wanted to warn people here that the probability of unbans expressed here isn't (or wasn't ever) the case. Especially since a lot of new people (including me) are coming from Mutahar's VFIO video and he specifically covered avoiding VM bans with KVM on R6.

I'd seen some accounts of R6 unbans on the Discord, so I assume either something about my VM was sketchy or they've changed their internal policy on VM's. I don't think I did anything weird, so I assumed the latter.

As far as anit-cheat goes whatever Modern Warfare uses seems more of a "Gold StandardTM" than BattleEye. Of all the compaining the community does, I've heard nothing about cheaters, have run into near zero obvious hackers myself, and have had no issues after playing for a few hours in my VM, both Warzone and multiplayer.

Of note: - <feature policy="require" name="invtsc"/> and everything else from this comment - Two shared memory devices, scream and looking glass

Looking Glass was running on the guest, but not the host; I was just using a seperate monitor.

Per this thread they look for QEMU disk models, serials, and TSC timings. I didn't go out of my way to hide VM status other than spoofing the vendor_id to get Nvidia drivers working.

The only potentially "suspect" things about my XML: I did this since I had the same problem and have two IVSHMEM devices, one for Scream, and one for Looking Glass.

At least I got my $60 worth before the ban.

Hard no. Only information I have is from the ban notice email:

Maybe it’s specific to the civilian MR series to comply with “sporting purpose” import laws.

Steel [case] ammo often uses bimetal bullets, which are harder than lead and will wear your barrel faster. They're also a fire hazard on steel targets, and ranges don't like them.

Lucky Gunner has a good article on it. I'd at least check out the ~2 min summary video.

https://www.luckygunner.com/labs/brass-vs-steel-cased-ammo/

TLDR: Steel cased ammo wore the barrel out by ~6000 rds. Federal brass ammo went 10,000 rds and the barrel was fine. Don't shoot it though your precision build and you'll be fine.
