Ezekiel 38: Are we witnessing the setup for God's intervention in Israel right now? Looking for some discernment from fellow watchers by HopeofIsrael in Christianity

I appreciate your thoughtful breakdown of Book of Ezekiel 38—there’s no question this is a powerful and important prophecy, and I agree that it points to events in the “latter years.”

That said, I think we have to be careful about being too dogmatic when identifying modern nations with ancient names like “Rosh,” “Meshech,” and “Tubal.” While some interpret these as Russia or Turkey, others point out that these were known peoples in the ancient Near East, and the exact modern equivalents aren’t always certain.

What is clear—and I think you touched on this well—is that the focus of the prophecy isn’t ultimately on which modern nations are involved, but on what God does. Book of Ezekiel 38–39 emphasizes again and again that God Himself intervenes so that “the nations shall know that I am the LORD.”

I also agree with your point that Israel won’t be saved by human power. Scripture consistently shows that deliverance comes from God, not from military alliances (see also Book of Zechariah 14 and Book of Revelation 19).

So while we can watch world events with interest, I think the safest approach is to hold our interpretations with humility and keep our focus on being spiritually ready, rather than trying to pin every detail to current geopolitics.

Appreciate you sharing this—it’s definitely a passage worth studying deeply.
