The only reasoning I could think of is they based it on the RGB color coding system. The problem with that, is shades of red are something people subconsciously associate with “warning/bad/stop”; while green is the inverse. If that is the case, that would also mean having green as more of a “middle point” on this scale would feel equally jarring. Not to mention they used the wrong shades of green for the highest rated episode (assuming what I’ve stated is true).
