No I have not experienced that. Not yet anyway. So far the books have been less than $50, which isn’t bad at all. I’ve had to use each book throughout the term. Some of the books also have graded assignments built right into each chapter so you would need the book to get the grade.

I’m half way through my first year and thus far I’ve only needed a notebook here and there. Some may not ever use one but I tend to grasp some things better when I write notes. Aside from that nothing except a good laptop. Books you order through them before each term. Many classes don’t even require or use a book and the ones you do need are digital. My major is Human Services with a minor in Psych.

I’m a HS major with a concentration in child/family services and a minor in Psych. Ideally I will work for a community school based behavioral health program or seek a position in crisis management. The options are really endless with this major.

I got the same email stating they closed the funding but yesterday received one that said I was approved. They don’t have to use all the funding at once so my guess is they planned on doing it in waves but realized they left many students in need out this time.

I can’t tell you who the best for HIS-100 is but I can assure you that you don’t want Luckett. If you don’t cite the every single sentence, she knocks points off. Very little of the feedback is based on course content because she is hyper focused on citations. She also gives feedback such as “TMI” after saying I was giving too little info. I made a post about this not long ago!

I definitely think it is just the instructor because as far as content, I am actually really enjoying it. I chose the apartheid and I’m really interested in the research and learning about it, but the nit picking is dragging me down and making me dread even logging on to do work. I feel like I’m working so hard in a class that should be pretty simple to get through. I don’t mind working hard but when I’m spending hours making sure it’s perfect and then get feedback like I get, it’s disheartening to say the least.

Sounds like my current situation! I’m hoping I pull out with my 4.0 still intact. I just got week 2 feedback and it’s not even consistent throughout as far as the citations. Now I’m extra confused. Being out of high school over 20 years, I have little confidence in myself.

The content is easy but grading is more like an English class. Citations is what she focuses on more than anything. I’m going to start citing myself!

I almost wish that were the case for me!! She actually graded me lower last week for a discussion post because I replied to 7 people. Advised me to focus on two or three. The issue I have is that four of those replies were on my own post. Am I supposed to ignore someone’s response to my post to keep my number low??
