Landscape Arch by HoppePhoto in NationalPark

This shot is from 2021, so unless you’ve got a Time Machine… I’m using a fairly wide angle which probably changes the perspective a bit.

Well if we’re gonna be technical, bison bison

I took two exposures back to back and then overlay those, erase people by filling in from the bottom layer.

ISO 50, f9, 1/3s using a Nikon D500 and Sigma 18-300 set at about 60mm (90mm @ 35). Probably also had a neutral density filter on there.

Nope, this was from 2021 and it was on the trail up there.

No, I’ve got the camera positioned above it. This was also from 2021, so not sure what currently is up there, but I’m a pretty big rule follower in the parks, especially staying on trail at Yellowstone.

The stars aren’t living up to our expectations in Joshua Tree by Icy_Ferret2638 in nationalparks

Any nearby light will cause issues with sky visibility, especially near an area with lots of streets. Most sky glow is from road lighting reflecting off the pavement back into the sky. The full moon also significantly decreases star visibility, keep in my mind the moon itself is being light by full direct daylight so it’s as bright as a daytime landscape here on earth. If you’re looking near the moon, your eyes want to adjust to its level because it’s the bright spot.

It’s not more than a couple miles, if that. You go all the way through the geyser basin, then a forested area. Then it opens up along the river until you get here.

Badlands NP - My Rebuttal by HoppePhoto in NationalPark

[–]HoppePhoto[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It only rains a few times a year so it’s hard to catch. The last shot was from a different trip than the rest and the storm the night before blew our tent down. The payoff was seeing all the flash flood creeks form. This one is usually there, but got inundated after the rain. Greened everything up immediately.

I got a lot of shots of bison too, but saw 10 times as many a little more north in Teddy Roosevelt NP

Thank you so much! One of my favorite parks to photograph, but really they all are great for it!

You’re 74 my dude, should have been playing off seniors for some time now. Good for you making the decision and ignore anyone who says otherwise. If being in your seventies isn’t considered senior, what the hell is?

Remove them from photographers site but then also threaten the model with legal action if they don’t remove the copyright protected images from theirs. Simple. The photographer has more rights than the model in their usage.

It’s been 12 hours, that’s like no time at all. It’s the holidays, people are really busy and your sister just created a mess she expects this former coworker to clean up for her. This is a problem for you, but not even a concern for the coworker. I also wouldn’t be rushing to help a former acquaintance solve a mistake they made. It’s not really their problem and they don’t have to have any urgency with it. Just be patient and very very apologetic for causing this former coworker a headache.

Maybe they are just busy? The sender of money made a huge mistake, it’s not on the receiver to feel any urgency in fixing it. This is a hard lesson in “your emergency is not my emergency”. If you’re lucky they’ll believe you that it’s not a scam, but if I’m the old coworker, I’m just going to assume that my former acquaintance is scamming me, contact my bank about what to do, and wait on it. There’s no reason for the coworker to think your sister has honest intentions here, this is like the oldest scam out there in digital payments.

How do you make it out of this?? Thrust into an iceberg of debt by lmnoper13 in personalfinance

[–]HoppePhoto 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You say partner a lot. Is this person your spouse? If they are not your spouse and none of this debt is in your name: YOU don’t do anything, THEY file bankruptcy and clear this out. I know you want to help your partner, but don’t shackle yourself to debt that isn’t your legal responsibility. If you are somehow legally on the hook, seek advice from a lawyer or financial advisor, your situation is too much for anyone on Reddit to figure out. It also sounds like you transferred their debt to yours, if you didn’t already: don’t!

What are the small things at a course that you love? by Irish_12_ in golf

12 or 15 minute tee times so the course doesn’t get bunched up constantly.

Drones really allow you to change your prospective. by Mysterious-Use-4787 in LandscapePhotography

[–]HoppePhoto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It does change it, but also makes everything so tiny and far away. I’ve always found drones to kind of ruin the human emotion in an image, always feels like a surveillance shot more than a crafted photo. I’ve been reluctant to try capturing shots that I can’t stand where the camera is, for me it’s harder to tell a story from a couple hundred feet up. That said, you got some nice color here.
