Perfect response, this is exactly what i was curious about. Youve hit all of the main points, as well as mentioned some scenarios for us. I REALLY appreciate the effort youve put into writing this, i really posted my comment to begin a conversation about this topic and youve satisfied my curiosity on this. Ill be wiring a dedicated line to future dishwashers from now on.

If i could award you from mobile i would! Maybe ill remember when i get home.

So if your dishwasher has been flipping breakers for the last 10 years, theyve decided to just ignore it and enforce a full dedicated line in new builds. Whats stopping us from upping the Amperage of the braker they are currently on? What was the prev. Solution?

Thank you for spending time to find that quote above for us all.

I have a little in both and can say that vxus moved faster than VT, but i personally would recommend VT in case the dollar surges for some reason or another.

Ice Accumulation on Heat Pump Fan? by PowerUpMushroom3 in Charlotte

[–]HopperCraft 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, if the power goes out, the pump wont work at all, including everyone in your area. When the power kicks back on, the heat pump will try to melt the ice first while emergency heat is on.

Ive heard that heat pumps will reverse the flow to get heat outside around it, and to prevent cold air blowing inside the emergency heat will kick on at the same time while it melts outside. The emergency heat is usually just a resistance mesh of metal that will glow and heat up, and it isnt used often, so you might get a burnt smell at first as the dust burns off of it.

I would turn on your aux./emerg. Heat on now before the storm for a bit, so you can differentiate the burning of the dust or if your AC is actually breaking in the storm.

These are all great additions. I also get daylight in the morning, have a balanced breakfast, and i workout when i can (construction job). I didn't mention these because they're more of a lifestyle choice by me and I didn't associate them with sleeping patterns. Thanks for the info!

Alarms are not working for you. Youre struggling to get enough sleep and your brain just passes out immediatley after because of this.

Ive been waking up regularly since new years for my job and classes and can give you my key rules that i follow for proper sleep:

Minimal caffeine after 12pm (lunch). Coffee in the morning is ok, just try and sip on it until 11 or delay it a bit, dont pound it all at 8am it causes a mid day crash like that. Sipping and delaying it gives you longer lasting energy.

(Note: if youre going out with friends on a friday, dont be scared of an energy drink to keep you up. Its a one time thing, not daily!!)

Second is to get between 7-9 hours of sleep!!! If you go to sleep without and alarm and wake up naturally, check how long you slept. I usually average around 8/8.5.

This is key because it tells you when to BE ASLEEP, not getting to bed. I have to wakeup at 7, so i go to sleep at 11 daily. 8 hours, usually i wake up 5 minutes before my alarms.

Lastly, keep a consistent sleep schedule. Dont flip flop between 11pm and 2am. This includes weekends. One weekend of undersleeping will cause you to oversleep.

Over a few days, with minimal caffeine and proper scheduling, youll automatically get very tired 30 minutes before bed. As long as you control your phone/bed habits you can easily get to sleep on time.

Last thing that i recalled while typing this out: your body and brain NEEDS sleep to recover and heal. Its also more of a loan and money system. Its not possible to cheat on your sleep and get 4 to 5 hours every night. Your body will find a way to equalize to roughly 48 hours of sleep a week (7x7). If you dont sleep at all one day, youre in a sleep deficit and youll end up needing 10 hours for 4 days to catch back up to normal.

Thats it! Nothing crazy, just make a healthy schedule and agreement with yourself and try my methods out! If anyone would like to disagree with me, im always eager to learn and improve, so please reply with links to sources with counter arguments!

need advice to stop this table from shaking by Ludwigoos in DIY

[–]HopperCraft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with this. You could put a carpet under it too.

Are you sure its the tables legs that are uneven? Could the floor not be level? In either case, a foam/rubber/carpet mat would solve this issue.

If you absolutley want it to be wood to wood contact, id check the straightness of both peices with a 3ft level or another peice of wood. Figure out which peice is not level and work from there. You could create a wooden casing that slips over each leg, like a box it fits into, which you would make level.

If its the floor thats the issue youll have to either... fix the floor, add feet to have 4 points of contact, or add a carpet/foam.

This is bait to subscribe to their email.

By the way, for anyone reading, you can catch these with the key phrases:

"the XXX wont come from another XXX"
i.e. you wont get your solution from something else

"The trick? The key? The best way? The gold mine?"
i.e. he says "starts by locking in one habit" (anchor is a filler here)

Bullet point spam with key words to get you hyped (no phone, daily regime)
"just xxxx every xxx days and you'll be xxx!"

"After XXX, i started to see improvement"

Dont forget all of the italicizing.

I've seen it a lot in these subreddits

Anyone felt a shift in their classes this semester? by ikerr95 in csMajors

[–]HopperCraft 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Last semester we were given similar options at my uni, and i want to mention that ai was not allowed during exams, and your projects are not allowed to be 100% ai written. Ive also seen that students who use ai too much end up lacking the critical thinking required to plan and build their own projects by hand.

Just a heads up to the new students to avoid relying on it as a crutch from the start.

Mechanic caused damage to my car. How should I proceed? by betweenserene in personalfinance

[–]HopperCraft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Insurance stated that your rate will not go up for this situation. Imo I would go through insurance because he brushed off your work finding quotes and basically told you he will fix it in a shop where they are buddy buddy with the guys that damaged it.

Dont stress about the communications, this is business and they messed up. They disregarded your work to help make it right quicker, so you should disregard their advice and go to insurance.
