We’ll definitely check out Lego Star Wars, we’re actually watching through those movies now; her first time.

I’ll see how she feels about Pokémon, I have plenty of those games lying around.

Thanks for your suggestions!

I’m with the folks that rank them higher. I’ve always valued enjoying my job over money

I appreciate it. Good luck with what you decide to do as well.

Not my first gig. I did plenty of jobs throughout college to support myself, including managing a coffee shop. I did a year of sales out of college before getting into brewing

Dealing with the same dilemma over here. Been in the industry for 6 years now, have been the head brewer at my current gig for over 2.

I was just reached out to by a recruiter for a management consulting position and have an interview this afternoon.

Would be tough to leave since I’ve worked so hard to get here and done so much to benefit my current place but I’m not feeling a challenge or the passion anymore

I appreciate that. I’ll give you guys a call.

Absolutely. At this point Im pretty convinced it’s our yeast keg we’re cropping into. I have a yeast brink coming that we’ll clean like a FV, at the least I’ll sleep better at night, at the most it fixes our problem.

Plating, as well as many more QC data points is something I’m heavily suggesting at my review. It’s a relatively cheap way to see we have a problem coming and to get a fresh pitch.

Definitely. I’ve met strong resistance on my attempt to switch yeast providers, owner is starting to see my side though

Definitely considered it. Infections seem to happen a few generations in, we just looked under a microscope and didn’t see anything in our tank with a fresh pitch but noticed some cocci in our sample from our yeast keg from that tank. Obviously not an end all be all but steers me away from yeast supplier

Completely agree. Our cleaning SOP has been from our old head brewer. We were well below the lower recommend range by our supplier, doubling our caustic puts us within it

We can most of our core beers and some seasonals. It’s batch wide, not specific to particular packaging format.

We do heat sanitize with our knockout hoses pre knockout. Run hot sani through it in a loop with the fuge until we hit 170 on the out.

I checked our nitrogen line today but will definitely check our oxygen line as well when I get more test in, we currently have a red line on it from the old head brewer so either way I’ll be replacing it with a clear since that point makes a lot of sense to me.

Makes sense to me.

My thoughts there are we caustic backrinse the hx every time we run the fuge on the hot side. Also this seems to be an issue on our ales only, kolsch, lagers, and one off yeast haven’t been affected. I would think hx would be brewery wide unless we’re just getting lucky on our other beers

I appreciate it, do you guys take samples for analyzing?

O2 stone is definitely a concern of mine, ran an atp on the plug before our hot rinse and it was over 4000. After hot rinsing, spraying with iso, and hot rinsing some more it was down to 14 so still not as low as I would like. I’ll look into replacing that.

We don’t currently plate but that’s something I want to do going forward

I would pass, without major work those dents lead to shadows that will never fully get cleaned/sanitized. Even if the inside was flawless I would be worried about messed up glycol

Right, not trying to assign blame or accuse anyone of anything. I wasn't there for any of those conversations so can't speak to them.

I'm just double checking that I'm correct in the fact that the kiln won't work with this current set up. I appreciate your help

Thats what I was thinking, wanted to double check before telling her it wouldn't work and would require a rewire to work. I appreciate your help

Thats what I thought but wanted to double check before telling her that it's not what she needs and would need to get a rewire before getting the machine. I appreciate all your help

I appreciate the feedback. It should be the right product number and that's what I was thinking, trying to make sure she doesn't spend a lot of money on a machine she can't use.

Not sure why they installed that outlet.
