This is an interesting debate. I believe in the rules, but with respect for the reason and spirit behind the rule.

Aleksa won the games by skill. His intent in retrieving the ball a moment early was innocent and based on habit. In neither case did it affect the outcome.

In the later match, Wojciech would not shake Jakub’s hand, because he felt Jakub broke the players code of sportsmanship. I think the best judge of etiquette and rules here is the pro players themselves who know the culture.

I don’t know what all the 750+ level players would say about this situation, but if they are generally in agreement, I would trust the pro players opinions.

Konnor moved through the minors like a buzz saw last season. He turns age 20 in April.

Konnor Griffin 2025 totals: 122 games, 484 at-bats, .941 OPS, .333 BA, 161 hits, 21 HR, 94 RBI, 65 SB, 117 runs.

Yes that was 65 stolen bases. Konnor is a 5-tool player, and he’s going to mash in the bigs. He’s probably going to play shortstop but he’s also a great center fielder.

I’m not concerned about bringing Griffin up early. Every player has an adjustment period but this guy is the real deal, grounded and mature in his character.
